Directions: Step 1Assign students to a player position. Make sure there

are not enough trees for all the squirrels. There will only be a few foxes to catch the loose squirrels. The trees will position themselves in the play area first.

Page 8: ETEC game

Next, the squirrels will go out to find a tree. They must stand underneath the raised arms to be in a tree. Once a squirrel finds a tree, one of the students that is part of the tree must decide whether they want to stay a tree, or become a squirrel. If there are no more trees, a squirrel must tap another squirrel on the shoulder and they must leave and find another tree.

Directions: Step 2

Directions: Step 3Once they have a cycle going, release the foxes. They can tag any squirrel that is not under a tree. Once a squirrel is tagged, they become a fox, and the fox becomes a squirrel. After they’ve played the game, let the students choose who they want to be.
