EMPLOYMENT SOLUTIONS

As a JSA provider, ETC offers a range of services to eligible job seekers, including: resume and interview preparation; job search training, including advice on the best ways to find and keep work; skills assessments by professional staff; as well as support with vocational and non-vocational barriers. ETC also offers access to information about the status of the local labour market (types of jobs, areas of high employment, areas of skills shortage etc). ETC can arrange funded traineeships and other training opportunities; referral into the Australian Apprenticeships Access Program; access to work experience opportunities including unpaid work experience in a workplace; and access to Work for Dole and Green Corps type opportunities. Finally, ETC also offers post placement support to job seekers to help them sustain long-term employment.

ETC provides a free recruitment service to employers, including: access to candidates throughout Australia; screening of candidates; short-listing, interviewing and reference checks. In addition, ETC can provide links to employer incentives for employment of job seekers.

ETC offers the Transition to Work Program which focuses on helping Year 12 school leavers who require additional support to get ready for working life and secure sustainable employment. ETC helps these clients by: identifying and supporting their goals; developing skills through work experience placements; delivering nationally accredited training; and developing personalised training plans.

ETC works closely with community and industry groups to create and source employment and/or training opportunities for Aboriginal people through the NCAP Program. ETC’s NCAP Officer helps Aboriginal people by: planning career paths; seeking out employment and/or training opportunities; and providing assistance with job applications and interview techniques.

ETC is a leading provider of employment and related services on the NSW Mid North Coast (Kempsey to Woolgoolga); contracted to the Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment and Work Place Relations (DEEWR) to provide a range of support services to employers and job seekers under the Job Services Australia Contract 2009 – 2015 and previous Job Network Contracts since 1995. ETC’s employment team works with job seekers from a range of backgrounds, cultures and ethnicities, many of whom experience significant barriers to gaining employment. Our Employment Consultants help job seekers by tailoring service delivery to individual’s needs, and organise group mentoring sessions to encourage networking and learning from others.

ETC offers a range of flexible training delivery options including: on-site at the workplace; in our modern, well-equipped training rooms; by distance/correspondence; or e-learning/on-line. Small Biz Connect offers start-up and small business operators with high-quality one-to-one business advisory services at no cost to them. Subsidised by the NSW Government, Small Biz Connect has an action focussed approach to setting and achieving business goals and also features skills development workshops. ETC delivers the Small Biz Connect program in the Illawarra and across the Mid North Coast.

NEIS helps eligible job seekers interested in establishing a small business with the development of a business plan and marketing strategy, accredited small business management training (Certificate IV in Small Business or Certificate III Micro Business) and ongoing mentoring for 12 months. ETC delivers NEIS in the Mid North Coast and Northern Rivers regions in NSW and on the Gold Coast.

ETC provides specialist services in the area of digital technologies and their applications for business people through the Federal Government funded SBAS program.

ETC delivers the Digital Enterprise program for Coffs Harbour in partnership with Coffs Harbour City Council and North Coast TAFE and for the Gold Coast in partnership with the Gold Coast City Council and Gravel Road. Funded by the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, the program is designed to help business people embrace digital technology through participation in group workshops and one-on-one face to face support with a digital business expert.

ETC develops and delivers business workshops across a range of topics in ETC’s various regions, advertised regularly to the local business community. Some of the topics include: how to develop a one page business plan; build a website in a day; networking for success and customer service skills.

ETC offers business consultancy services in the areas of business analysis and diagnostics; preparation of feasibility studies, business plans and marketing plans; and market research.

ETC specialises in the delivery of Indigenous programs and are experienced providers of business facilitation and support for new or intending Indigenous businesses.

ETC seeks to partner on a regular basis with government agencies, industry or business groups to deliver specialised mentoring programs to suit the needs of different sectors, such as business women, young business owners, home-based and micro businesses. The programs generally feature a combination of group and one-to-one mentoring support.

ETC’s Business team is comprised of experienced business consultants who have worked in small business and are in tune with the needs and demands of SMEs. The team has a proven track record in successfully delivering government funded business programs that often exceed both client expectations and contractual obligations. ETC is part of the national business network, Business Enterprise Centres Australia (BECA) and remains abreast of the latest trends, initiatives, legislation and developments affecting small business. In addition, the team provides community information programs in partnership with state and Australian government departments.
