Hazardous Location Information

“Power, input and output (I/O) wiring must be in accordance with Class I, Division 2wiring methods [Article 501-4 (b) of the National Electric Code, NFPA 70] and inaccordance with the authority having jurisdiction.”

Peripheral equipment must be suitable for the location it is used in.

The equipment must be suitable for use in Class I, Div. 2, Groups A, B, C, and DHazardous Locations and nonhazardous locations only.

!WarningExplosion HazardSubstitution of components may impair suitability for Class I, Div. 2 Hazardous Locations.Different or lesser quality components may cause an explosion or other hazardous situation, which could result in death or serious injury, and/or damage to equipment.

To avoid potentially hazardous situations, always use the appropriate components.

!WarningExplosion HazardNever disconnect equipment before powering off or before ascertaining that the area isnonhazardous. Disconnecting equipment before powering off in a hazardous area may causean explosion, which could result in death or serious injury, and/or damage to equipment.

To avoid potentially hazardous situations, always power off equipment and assure that the areais nonhazardous before disconnecting.

Assigning Parameters to the 2RO NO/NC DC24..120 V / 5 A AC24..230 V / 5 A RelayModule

To find a description of the general procedure for assigning parameters to digitalmodules, see Section 3.3 of the S7--300 and M7--300 Programmable ControllersModule Specifications Manual.

For details of the parameters of the digital output module, see Appendix A.3 of theS7--300 and M7--300 Programmable Controllers Module Specifications Manual.

Parameters of the 2RO NO/NC DC24..120 V / 5 A AC24..230 V / 5 A Relay Module

Table 2 shows the parameters that you can set and their default setting for the2RO NO/NC DC24..120 V / 5 A AC24..230 V / 5 A Relay Module.

Interrupts of the 2RO NO/NC DC24..120 V / 5 A AC24..230 V / 5 A Relay Module

The 2RO NO/NC DC24..120 V / 5 A AC24..230 V / 5 A Relay Module can triggerdiagnostic interrupts.

The OBs and SFCs mentioned below are explained in detail in the online help forSTEP 7.

Enabling Interrupts

The interrupts are inhibited (not present) without appropriate parameterassignment. Assign parameters to the Interrupt Enable in STEP 7.

Diagnostic Interrupt

If you have enabled diagnostic interrupts, then active error events (initialoccurrence of the error) and departing error events (message aftertroubleshooting) are reported by means of an interrupt.

The CPU interrupts the execution of the user program and processes thediagnostics interrupt block (OB82).

In the user program, you can call SFC51 or SFC59 in OB82 to obtain moredetailed diagnostic information from the module.

The diagnostic information is consistent until such time as OB82 is exited. WhenOB82 is exited, the diagnostic interrupt is acknowledged on the module.
