16th ESVOT Congress 2012Bologna (Italy) - September 12th - 15th, 2012

Welcome to the 16th ESVOT Congressby the ESVOT President

Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends

It is a great pleasure for me to cordially invite you to the up-coming ESVOT Meeting in Bologna.

Again we were able to put together an exciting scientificprogram.

It is our goal to present to you not only state of the art lec-tures and excellent overviews on current techniques, but alsothe latest developments in the field of veterinary orthopedics.

The meeting will start with our popular pre-congress semi-nars and courses. We start Wednesday with a 2-day dry lab on“Locking Systems for Internal Fixation” where you have theunique chance to test and compare the most popular lockingsystems next to each other. Thursday you can choose betweena dry lab on the latest “Synthes Mini-Fragment LCP’s forTrauma and Orthopedics in cats and small breed dogs”, a TTA

master course and Seminars on important topics such as “Osteoarthritis” as well as “Canine Rehabi-litation for the Orthopedic Surgeon”.

The official program starts Thursday afternoon with the first state of the art lecture. In the followingtwo days you will have the opportunity to choose among the main program and smaller in depth semi-nars. So hopefully you will be able to find throughout the meeting plenty topics that you are particu-larly interested in.

Again we were able to invite world-renowned speakers, which gives you a unique opportunity to me-et them and hopefully get in contact with one or the other.

The international exchange makes this meeting so special.Apart of offering an outstanding scientific program, visiting Bologna is another convincing reason

to come to our meeting. If indeed there is nothing in the scientific program that keeps you in the dar-kness of the lecture rooms, there is plenty of sightseeing in the historic town of Bologna.

Beside its history, it is famous for its fine dining. Many special meals originate from here such asthe Tortellini, Lasagne, Pasta al Ragu Bolognese, Mortadella and much more.

The program will end with our traditional Banquet Saturday evening in downtown Bologna with go-od food and a lot of fun.

This exciting Meeting would not have been made possible with the joint efforts of my colleagues inthe board, the great help of EMOVA and of course all our sponsors, that contributed a significant fi-nancial support for this event.

Come and join us - I’m looking forward to meet you in Bologna!

Dr. Rico VanniniPresident of ESVOT
