Once the ARD is submitted, you will receive access to your ESU email account, learn how to log into the “myESU” portal and view information on contacting your adviser for registration, find orientation dates, view announcements, and obtain information from other offices.

transfer adMIssIOn CrIterIaTransfer applicants with 24 or more college-level credits (excluding remedial/developmental coursework) must have a minimum cumulative 2.00 Grade Point Average (GPA) on a 4.00 scale for admission consideration. College-level coursework in-progress at the time of application will count toward the 24 college-level credits. Certain academic programs have limited enrollment and higher admission criteria; please see “Special Admission Programs.” See page 6.

Applicants with fewer than 24 college-level credits completed at the time of application (excluding remedial/developmental coursework) will be evaluated using a combination of official college-level GPA/credits, high school record, and SAT/ACT scores for admission consideration. Please note: Your high school transcript is required for admission review.

PASSHE Applicants: Applicants who have attended a Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) institution and have completed a minimum of 12 credits with a cumulative GPA of 2.00 will transfer under the guidelines of Academic Passport.

Please note: A combined GPA is calculated for applicants who have attempted credit at multiple institutions. Applicants must maintain a cumulative minimum GPA of a 2.00 on the final official college transcript. Applicants not offered admission to a “Special Admission Programs” will have an opportunity to choose another major.

Non-Transferrable Credit: Pre-college level courses (remedial/developmental) are not transferrable.

Acceptable Grades: All college-level courses with a grade of ‘C-‘ or better will be considered for transfer credit. Grades of ‘D’ are only considered for transfer credit if the applicant is transferring under the guidelines of ‘Academic Passport.’ English composition requires a ‘C’ grade to count toward graduation requirements.

AP and CLEP Credit: Grades of ‘3’ or higher on AP exams and scores passed at the 50th percentile for CLEP may be considered for credit at ESU. AP and CLEP credit will not be taken from college transcripts. A College Board official score report must be sent for transfer credit evaluation.

PATRAC serves as a one-stop shop for transfer students, and was created as a seamless statewide transfer and articulation system. Transfer students can expect:

Successfully completed coursework from the approved Transfer Credit Framework will transfer and count towards graduation at ESU.

Statewide program-to-program transfer agreements are being developed that allow Pennsylvania community college students to transfer their full Associate of Arts (A.A.) and Associate of Science (A.S.) degrees into parallel bachelor degree programs at the participating institutions with junior standing including ESU.

aCadeMIC PassPOrtIf you are a student at a Pennsylvania community college, Lackawanna College or one of the PASSHE universities and are ready to transfer, Academic Passport is your guaranteed admission to East Stroudsburg University. To qualify you must have a conferred Associate of Arts (A.A.) or Associate of Science (A.S.) degree from a Pennsylvania community college or Lackawanna College or at least 12 college-level credits from one of the PASSHE universities. All students must have a minimum 2.00 grade point average.

Students holding the Academic Passport will transfer credit according to the Board of Governors Policy titled “The Academic Passport and Student Transfer Policy.”
