Facts about Estuary's Biome

• The estuary's are made up of fresh and salt water.

• 2/3 of the fish and shellfish eat and spend most of there time in the estuary’s

Estuary’s is a body of water surrounded by fresh water and from river with salt water from the ocean

Of the 32 largest cities 22 of are located on the estuaries.

Definitions

Producer: is plant that makes its energy from the sunPrimary Consumers: an animal that eats plants for

food.Secondary Consumers A carnivore that eats

herbivore’s or plant eatersTertiary Consumers: the top animals of the food web

that eats other carnivores and herbivores Decomposers: the animals that eats non-leaving

things that are found already dead

Dangers for this Biome

• Some Threats creation of dams disrupting migrating routes for fish runoff from agriculture and areas hurts water quality draining water from the wet land over population invasion of exotic species harm native animals and plants global warming

Page 8: Estuary biome

Solutions

• Restrict the construction of dams • Provide incentives for farming business to

reduce the use of pesticides• Establish protect wetlands areas• Regulate the with draw of water for human

use or don’t take lots of water from the wet lands or fresh water lands
