  • PRINCIPAL’S KORERO

Thank you to all those families who were able to support our teachers to enable us to attend the NZEI Paid Union meeting yesterday. This meeting gave us information about the Governments proposal to introduce Global Funding. This would have a huge impact on the way schools are funded and could adversely affect support staff and teaching and learning programmes within schools. We hope to have your continued support with our campaign to encourage the Government to change their proposal. We will keep you informed with our progress. Last week some students presented the speeches they have been working on to the rest of the school. Well done to all students involved, it was great to see you overcome nerves and speak with confidence. Our year three and four students are not able to progress to the Far North competition however the standard of their speeches was excellent. We will have some great speeches to look forward to in the years to come from these students. Results from all year levels are detailed later in this newsletter. Only two more weeks until the end of this term. Things are going to get busy with preparation for Pet/Market Day as well as all the Reading, Writing and Maths that we need to fit in!

ICE-BLOCKS ARE NOW FRIDAY!!!! Ice-blocks have changed to a Friday. Starting tomorrow Friday 9th September. PLEASE GIVE YOUR MONEY TO YOUR CLASSROOM TEACHER!!!

Cost: $1 Thank you for your support!!!

PET DAY Only two weeks to go until our Pet/Market Day. Please see the Pet Day notice included with this newsletter for details of the programme for the day.

OPEN DAY AT KAITAIA COLLEGE This will be held on Monday 12th September starting at 9.30a.m. Any year 8 students who are looking at options for next year should attend this day to see what Kaitaia College has to offer for their secondary school years.
