communications aimed at a general audience• Has a multiple meaning in general and technical contexts• Solution: use and require a specialist dictionary for learning

technical and sub technical vocabulary.

For Essay Purposes• Carefully used of abbreviations and acronyms• For the first time use, you must spell out the full term followed

by the abbreviations & acronyms in bracket• Considering the total amount of abbreviations & Acronyms used

in your article

1st person / 3rd person

For Essay Purposes• For scientific article : considering the use of 3rd person method,

in order to avoid destroying objectivity (Lindsay,1995)

BUT• The use of first person can make your article more interesting BECAUSE• The use of active voice make your article more clear than

passive voice (3rd person)

Non-Discriminatory Language

For Essay Purposes• Legal obligation of all writers• Reveal truthful facts of the article• Avoid statements that suggest bias or prejudice towards any

group• For example: avoid making unsupported statements about a

person’s age, economic class, national origin, political or religious beliefs, race or sex.

REFERENCES

For Essay Purposes• Don’t ever forget to put a correct copyright of pictures, tables,

photos which is not made by you.• Always make a reference in footnote or Appendix if you quote

one of your statement from other people opinion/books.• By adding references in your article, it will increase degree of

scientific and technical of article.• Example:Day, R.A, Scientific English – A Guide for Scientists and Other Professionals. Oryx Press, 1992
