Let´s go swimming, fishing, sailing, paddling or diving! Maritime fun for everyone.

In addition to water sports, take a slow walk along the Rantaraitti coastal trail. Or sunbathe on the beach and play some beach volley. Hop on a cruise in the Espoo archipelago and feel the breezy atmosphere. Afterwards have dinner in a charming restaurant or terrace by the sea.

Rantaraitti The Rantaraitti trail following the seashore is popular among walkers and cyclists. This trail runs from Laajalahti to Kivenlahti. There are many swimming beaches, marinas and parks along the way. Rantaraitti on your mobile http://citynomadi.fi/reitit/rantaraitti

Recreational islandsHop on one of the scheduled boats and get to know the gems of Espoo’s archipelago. In a day you can visit a couple of recreational islands. Bylan-det, Gåsgrund, Knapperskär, Rövaren, Rövargrundet, Stora Herrö and Torra Lövö islands are equipped for campers. There are piers, shelters for cooking, toilets and wells for drinking water on these islands. Firewood is available and waste management is taken care of by the city of Espoo. On Iso Vasikkasaari Island there is a restaurant and a café open during summer time. Read more on pages 20-21.

A spring excursion to Pentala Island 21.5. 12 am–4 pm

The Pentala Island is at its best when spring starts to turn into summer. During this excursion you will see an exceptional sight, an island in the middle of a lake on an island. It is recommended to wear warm clothing and take along some lunch.

The cruises depart and arrive at Otaranta in Otaniemi. The Midsummer cruise is an excep-tion, departing and arriving at Mellsteninranta in Haukilahti.

Prices: adults 25 euro, seniors 17 euro and children (7-16 years) 10 euro.

Midsummer bonfire 24.6.

This traditional Finnish Mid-summer Eve cruise starts from Mellsteninranta in Haukilahti. The route will first pass through some of the most beautiful parts of Espoo archipelago, leading to a good vantage point to admire the magnificent bonfires at Seurasaari. Refreshments and coffee are avail-able on board.

N.B. On Midsummer Eve, Friday 24 June, our office is closed.

NUUKSIO – WILDERNESS IN THE CITYNuuksio National Park is far away from the hectic city life, but still next door. Choose your own way to relax: riding, cycling, fishing, climbing, picking berries and mushrooms, swimming, snowshoeing, letterboxing, skiing, sleeping in a lean-to shelter or walking on marked trails. There are almost 30 kilometres of hiking trails near Haukkalampi, Kattila and Siikajärvi lakes. Nuuksio is ideal for a ramble of a day or two, with pitches for camping and shelters for cooking.
