Statement Technique Question

Isabel va a la escuela. Use rising intonation to imply a question.

Isabel va a la escuela. Switch the position of the subject and verb.

• Cómo - how• Cuál(es) – which or what• Cuándo - when• Por qué – why• Qué - what• Quién(es) –who• Cuánto(a)(os)(as)- how much

Some questions are formed by putting a conjugated verb after the question

word.

• Cómo - ¿Cómo está Ricardo?• Cuál(es) - ¿Cuál es el libro?• Cuándo - ¿Cuándo estudia

Qué and Cuál(es) are followed by words other than verbs.

• Qué can be followed directly by a noun.

• Ex. ¿Qué libro mira Isabel?

• Cuál or cuáles can be followed by other words before the noun.

• Ex. ¿Cuál es tu casa?• ¿Cuáles de los libros mira
