WELCOMEThe children play hide and seek as the autumn leaves blanket the playground. “... 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1… Coming, ready or not!” Lise leans in towards the big tree, her hands covering her eyes as the children sneak off to find the perfect hiding place. Nature is an eternal source of inspiration and we have returned to happy childhood memories and lain in wait at the forest edge for inspiration for the autumn/winter col-lection 2012. Outdoor life has truly been the basis for the collection.

We proudly present the collection, a collection that is a source of inspiration for outdoor play and nature exploring. To be a child is to have fun and we at ej sikke lej cannot help but provoke the creativity and ingenuity of children when we conceive and design quirky new prints and relaxed styles. Never compro-mising on functionality, durability, and comfort.

We looked back and let the 70’s heritage of our own childhood finding expression for this new collection. We had much laughter and enjoyment looking over old photos from our own childhood during the design process. It is this exact combination of function, creativity and sense of simple style, cultivated during the seventies, that has always been our greatest source of inspiration at ej sikke lej.

Besides the well known qualities of denim, velour, and terry, we are excited to welcome to our new stars: the plush wide wale corduroy and the cozy

chunky wool knit, with its traditional Nordic style. We have also covered our new isoli series with a print resembling the finest knit and our well known baby wale style has new narrower forms and crocheted patches, amongst others, the hip trumpet trousers.

Another newcomer this winter is the quilted baby winter suit and a cool vest with plush lining in a won-derfully cozy material, making them perfect for the change of seasons and the winter by adding a warm knit underneath. They are in other words perfect for the children’s everyday activities! Both designs are reminiscent of seventies’ work wear.

We will meet winter this year with wide stripes on our outerwear collection. It is a collection with simple details in high tech materials - designed to give the children optimal freedom of movement and comfort for play.

The forest and woods are full of fascinating animals to explore and be intrigued by. These animals are the inspiration for our prints. The owl being our belowed ej sikke lej classic has been accompanied this year by the ever shy, hiding fox, the hare hopping over hill and dale and the raccoon peaking out from its fine den, where every stick is in it’s place, and the winter gathering has been done.

We are proud to present a collection, ready for fun and games in the great outdoors.
