    No. 02, 1 September 2017

Dear Parents and Caregivers, We are now three weeks into the school year and the children have all settled into their new classes with their new teachers. It was great to see many of you last night at our ‘Meet the Teacher’ Evening.

Collection of students from After School Activities

If your child is enrolled in an after school activity please ensure that they are collected promptly at 4pm as our building contractors commence work at 4pm and we need to clear the playground. This year we have introduced a “three strike” policy for children who are not collected on time on a regular basis.

    Year 6/7 Transfers

For those parents with children in Year 6 please ensure you complete the Year 7 Transfer procedure on Gateway as soon as possible. It opens on Monday. See ‘Message from Admissions Office’ in the newsletter for more details.

    Car Parking outside Kennedy School

A reminder that no vehicles are to park in front of the school or wait for students at anytime. This includes the corner leading away from Kennedy School. Please note that the local police have informed us they will be patrolling more often this year. Also a reminder that the school gates will not open till 2:40pm for collection.

Congratulations to our new Year 6 House Captains and well done to all the Year 6 children who were risk takers and had a go!

Enjoy the weekend and try and stay dry.

STUDENT LEADERSHIP POSITIONS IN YEAR 6There has been a buzz of excitement throughout Kennedy this week as the process to recruit our new Y6 student leaders for 2017-18 gets underway. This week has seen our 24 shortlisted House Captains present to their Y5 and 6 peers at a special House assembly on Monday. They all did an amazing job and impressed us with their commitment and enthusiasm. They should all be very proud of themselves. Thursday was election day and all year 5 and 6 children and all adults in the school were able to vote. We know that all the candidates would have done an excellent job, but unfortunately we can only have 8 House Captains. The votes were close and the results are below:DragonsKira Chung 6RBrandon Yip 6RO

Congratulations to the new House Captains for 2017-18. We are very much looking forward to working with you.
