ELECTRICAL PROPULSION SUBSYSTEM INDUSTRIALIZATION AND THRUSTER OPERATIONAL CHARACTERISATION

• Prerequisite for G2G to keep launch costs of larger platforms in present launch cost envelope

• E. g. 3 sats in Soyuz ST or 1 sat in VEGA

• Transfer time of 12 months requires new launch strategy

• First contract kicked-off Dec. 2013, second one follows in Feb. 2014

GALILEO 2nd GENERATION SPACE SEGMENT PHASE A/B1

• Follows Galileo-1 after 2021

• Flexibility to replenish in different planes w/ one single launch

• Increasing Galileo payload capability (ISL, increased signal power levels, upgraded PRS, more robustness, etc.)

• Two parallel contracts kicked off in Dec. 2013, third one follows

INTER-SATELLITE LINK PRE-DEVELOPMENT

• Improved Security− Less dependence on ground segment

− Lower number of GDDN connections

− Improved command capabilities within seconds

• Improved Accuracy Performance− Smaller ODTS UERE, faster convergence

after maneuvers, improves integrity/RAIM, AUTONAV

• Additional Benefits− Sounding of atmosphere
