ES39.C.1.1.1 Earth work in excavation (from existing ground level / graded level) for area grading, foundations, plinth beams, trenches,

maintenance of stable slopes through suitable means such as shoring, strutting, sheet piling etc. Wherever required for ensuring
retention / stability of surrounding strata against cave in due to rains, loads expected during work execution, arragements for
preventing surface run-off in excavted pit, prevention of soil slopes erosion, including continous bailing out of water and muck for
carrying out excavtion activities in a safe manner in switchyard area and stacking the useful / serviceable excavated soil and
disposal of excavated muck/ other materials up to a lead of 1500 m all as per specifications and directions of Engineer.

1. Clearance of area for excavation as well enabling works involving uprooting and removal of shrubs, vegetation,rlaps not less
than 300 mm, making joints by groove cutting machine etc. complete., sealant primer, joint sealant, debonding strip, admixtures as
approved, curing compound, Bituminuous coating with tin cap for dowel bars etc. and finishing to lines and grades as per drawing
and as per relevant clauses of MOSRTH / IRC specifications and technical specifications complete including all enabling works,
but excluding cost of steel in dowel bar and tie bars etc.)

ES39.C.1.1.2.1 Carrying out ground improvement over the entire extent of switchyard area by using compacted soil as per technical specifications
and drawings. For the above purpose, selected earth free from pebbels and vegetation after recovering from the stacks of excavted
soil shall be dried in drying beds before use so as to bring moisture content below or equal to OMC. This soil shall be uniformly
mixed in automated weigh batching and mixing plant(s). Suitable quantity of water shall be added to this mix in batching/ mixing
plant so as to achieve desired optimum moisture content at site. This mix shall be transported to the placement locations and laid in
layers not exceeding 200 mm each (compacted thickness) and compacting each layer at optimum moisture content using vibro
rollers to achieve at least 95% modified Procter Density which shall be verified after completion of compaction through field and
laboratory tests as per technical specifications. Quoted rate shall include cost of transportation of soil from stock wild grass, trees
etc. and its disposal thereof at identified locations within plant boundaries shall be deemed to have been included in quoted rate of
the item.
2. Rock in general is not envisaged to be encounered during excavation. However, any pebble, gravel, boulder encountered during
excavation shall be deemed to be included in the quoted rate.
3. Payment in respect of dewatering by mechnical means shall be paid in the relevant items.
4. All the measures to prevent entry of rain water into excavated pit viz making of bunds, temporary trenches, sumps etc and slope
protection aspects including prevention of soil erosion shall be included in the quoted rates.

ES39.C.1.1.4.1 Engineering, supply, Installion of dewatering system including electrical operated pumps/ machine/ equipment, minimum 25%
capacity spare diesel pumps, DG sets as an alternate arrangement to augment 125% capacity (full capacity & 25% extra for
standby of DG sets) capacity operation in case of power failure, GI/ UPVC pipe lines, valves, spares/ consumables etc.with multi
stage/ single stage vacuum well point system in combination with sump (submersible) pumps in working condition. The contractor
shall maintain separate energy meter / meters for the dewtering system. Quoted rates shall include decommissioning and removal
of complete dewatering system from site after completion of the work and take back components provided by the contractor, all
complete as per the specifications & instructions of the Engineer. Detailed scheme shall be submitted after award of work.
Adequacy of this scheme shall be demostrated at site for the specified requirements. Any modifications required during
implementation stage shall be made by the contractor at no extra cost to NPCIL .All items used for dewatering system shall be
brand new and conform to relevant IS.
Note: 1. The contractor should read the relevant geotechnical information supplied with the tender. He may conduct further
necessary tests/ mock up at his own cost to finalise the details of the dewatering system. The cost shall also include provision &
maintenance of peripheral pipes up to discharge point locations as provided by the NPCIL.
2. The dewatering system shall be designed to maintain ground water level atleast 1 M below the working ground level at that time
till completion of ground improvement upto finished grade level or as directed by Engineer-In-Charge. Provision of suitable
numbers of instrumented observation wells shall be made for demonstrating the same.
3. Dewatering scheme for excavation & ground improvement of specified areas shall be devised based on the excavation & ground
improvement drawings as appended with the tender document. Borehole & geo investigation data appended with the tender
document may be referred for understading the existing ground water table.
4. The water extracted from the dewatering system shall be discharged at the designated location provided by NPCIL at site. The
Contractor shall be responsible for de-watering as per work requirement and instruction of the Engineer.
5. Operation & maintenance of dewatering system will be based on electrical power consumed and shall be paid in separate item.

ES39.C.1.2.1 Design, supply and place pumpable normal density concrete for PCC / RCC of following grades and placement temperatures for structures/
foundation in switchyard at all levels and locations including foundations using coarse aggregate of maximum size not exceeding 20 mm,
green cutting using coloured surface retarder at construction joints, supplying and mixing mineral admixtures, chemical admixtures
conforming to ASTM-C-494 type-G complete as per drawings, specification and as per direction of the the Engineer.

ES39.C.1.2.8.1.3 Supply and installation of custom fabricated/ cut to size electro forged Gratings in shapes (rectangular/ circular etc.) as required with serrated
bearing bars and its fixing at all elevations with clamps, siddle clip & slotted clamps including drilling, providing and fixing screws and painted
with epoxy paint conforming to NPCIL specification PP-M-1219 with minimum DFT of 200 micron (excluding primer) over 75 micron zinc

ES39.C.2.2.1 Design, supply and place pumpable normal density concrete for PCC / RCC of following grades and placement temperatures for
structures/foundation at all levels and locations including foundation and piling using coarse aggregate of maximum size not
exceeding 20 mm, green cutting using coloured surface retarder at construction joints, supplying and mixing mineral admixtures,
chemical admixtures conforming to ASTM-C-494 type-G complete as per drawings, specification and as per direction of the the
Engineer.
Note:
1.Rate to include cost for all concrete making ingredients, loading, unloading, stacking, storage etc, of all materials, labour, tools,
plants, testing, curing and compaction, F2 / U2 finish as relevant for PCC/RCC
2. Mineral admixtures viz. fly ash / microsilica / GGBS shall be used as per the specifications.
3 Concrete is required to be prequalified by trial mixes for all weather conditions as per technical specifications and report to be
submitted for approval of NPCIL.

ES39.C.2.2.2 Design, supply, place including forming groove wherever required for construction joints and remove formwork at all levels,
unless specified in the item, inclusive of required scaffolding / staging, materials, labour, tools and plants, safety nets, platforms,
access, railings etc. all complete as per drawings, specification & as directed by the Engineer .

for all reinforced concrete works at all levels and elevations including storing, cleaning, cutting, bending, fixing, tying with 1.6 mm
dia soft annealed binding wire all complete including cost of transporting, decoiling and straightening of bars and cost of binding
wire, cover blocks etc. testing as per IS code and etching test to conform TMT etc. all complete as per drawings, specifications and
as directed by the Engineer.
Note:
1. Chairs, spacers, supports and approved laps which are embedded in the concrete shall be measured and paid under this item.
Reinforcement steel used for formwork and its supports shall not be paid.
2. Bidder may take a note of the additional requirement with respect to percentage elongation and ratio of UTS to yield stress over
and above requirement stipulated in IS 1786.
3. The steel shall be procured from main manufacturers, who manufacture the rebarse made by the contractor at no extra cost to
