Pianist Erika Nickrenz has played as a solo artist and chamber musician at numerous festivals, including Marlboro, Tanglewood, and the Spoleto Festivals in both Italy and America. She has toured with "Music from Marlboro", and as a member of Chamber Soloists USA, and has made recordings for the Musical Heritage/Music Masters and ASV London labels. For the "Backstage at Lincoln Center" series narrated by Hugh Downs, Nickrenz performed solo excerpts from Mussourgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition"; the program was aired on PBS' opening night of "Live from Lincoln Center". In May 2003 she participated in the opening of the New York Stock Exchange after performing there as part of the Steinway 150th anniversary celebration. She has recorded several CD’s on the MusicMaster and ASV London labels and for Angel/EMI Classics.

At age six, Nickrenz began playing the piano, and was sent to study with German Diez of the Claudio Arrau School in New York City. Nickrenz made a prodigious concerto debut at age eleven at New York's Town Hall, where she played the Mozart Piano Concerto in A Major. The young pianist played chamber music throughout her education at the Juilliard School and received both her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees, where she studied with Abbey Simon and Felix Galimir.
