ABSTRACT

North Carolina local public school boards have the statutoryresponsibility for operating public schools and for entering into contractsfor design and construction of their schools. This document presents examplesof plans for school buildings planned or constructed during the last fewyears, as of 1986, representing a wide range of educational philosophies anddesign solutions. Elementary, Middle, and High School buildings are included.Each offering provides the floor plan, photographs or line drawings of theschool, and costs and contractor information. (GR)
