Canteen

Thanks to Tracy Twitchin and her team of volunteers for another great year in the canteen. Tracy has decided to step down from her position as canteen co-ordinator due to her health. On behalf of all the school community, I’d like to thank Tracy for the 3 years she has been running the canteen. She has done a great job!

Students return in 2019

All students from Years 1 to 6 will return to school on Wednesday 30th January, 2019. Kindergarten students will take part in individual Best Start assessments for the first two days of school, and will begin as class groups on Friday 1st February.

Yearbook

On sale for $27. Those who have bought it are raving about it!

Year 6 Farewell Assembly and Dinner

The Year 6 Farewell dinner takes place in the school hall on Monday 17th Dec from 5:30pm to 8.30pm.

Photos can be taken outside the hall from 5.00pm.

Parents/Carers invited into Hall for dance/song at 8.10pm.

P&C Xmas Fun Day

On Tuesday 18th Dec, the P&C have organised an out-of-uniform day. Students are asked to wear a Xmas shirt. The raffle will be drawn and Santa may make an appearance too. This is also the last day of the canteen for lunch orders. See below about the P&C funded BBQ lunch!

Friday 14th the canteen will close because all students will be on their end-of-year excursion.

In the last week of school the canteen will operate normally on Monday 17th Dec. Tuesday 18th Dec will be the last day of operation, and will be a special day. The P&C will fund the lunch for all students. Notes need to be returned by tomorrow please. Orders will be delivered to rooms at 1:30pm on the day. Ice blocks will be the only item sold over the counter at 11am. Students need to bring their own food on Wednesday 19th Dec, the last day of school.

Last day for students

Students’ last day of the year is Wednesday 19th Dec. On this day, students will spend some time with the teacher they will most probably have in 2019. Of course, these arrangements may be fluid up to two weeks into the new school year, dependent upon changes in student numbers.

Farewell Arch

Just before the final bell next Wed, students will form an arch in Area A and those students and staff who will be leaving for the final time can walk through to say their final farewells.

Staffing

Gemma Gash has been successful in securing a 12 month Assistant Principal position at Shortland PS in 2019. Trish Scott will spend 12 months at Buronga P.S. (near Mildura) in 2019.

We welcome Wendy Moss, Kim Newton, Andrew Inman and Leah Morgan to the teaching staff in 2019. We also welcome back Kellie Dooner and Lisa Grall.

Margaret King will also take 12 months leave in 2019. She will be replaced by Emily Rice.

Before and After School Care

Jess Osland Johnson and Keetah Richardson, our wonderful team at our Camp Australia Before and After School Care, will be leaving the service at the end of the year. We thank them for their professionalism, care and diligence over the time they have run the service.

The Before and After School Care service will move to the historic building over the holidays, to make room for a third Kinder classroom in its current location.

Uniform Shop

The uniform shop is now closed for 2018. Thanks to John and Ann Bettley for the years of volunteering they have given to the shop.

The Uniform Shop will be open on Tuesday 29th January between 9:00am-12:00pm (the day before the students return to school). It will also be open each morning of the first week of 2019 from Wednesday 30th Jan to Fri 1st Feb from 8:30-9:00am.

Over 2 weeks, we came together to make Christmas

brighter and ever so special for the farming

community of Bellata Public School.

In conjunction with Australia Post, our gifts and

letters arrived on Monday and the children are busy

writing responses.

Australia Post employees surprised us and were

able to collect all the gifts at our Friday Assembly.

We Did It together! Thank you!

2019 Class Resources

Dear Parents

At Beresfield Public School each child is supplied with all books, pencils, paper and craft needs they will require for the school year. This includes all the wonderful craft items your child will make throughout the year, copying costs instead of purchasing textbooks and scripture materials (contributes to the scripture books used by students).

Parents are invoiced $50 to cover these school resources. To assist families the second child in the family is invoiced $37.50 and the third child is only invoiced $25.00.

Please send the money into school in a zip lock bag labelled with your child’s name and class. Payments may be made by cash or EFTPOS at the office, by credit card over the phone or on our website by Parent Online Payments.

Your child will bring home the receipt in the zip lock bag and the supplies will remain at school.

We ask all students to send in 2 boxes of tissues, so the class has a good supply for the year, and a Library bag – which can be ordered through the Uniform Shop for $5.50.

Students in K-2 will also require the following items to be clearly labelled with your child’s name:

A paint shirt to protect uniforms

A spare pair of underpants to leave in their school bag.

A raincoat should be in their bag everyday regardless of the forecast
