The medieval quarter is a maze of alleys and ‘les petites rues’, displaying every shade of terracotta. Painted shutters and wooden doors mark the front of old houses.

Here you can see the ancient prison and the “Palais Des Contes de Provence” which often housed great kings of the past.

Coming down from Sainte Beaume, the River Caramy runs through Brignoles, offering the tired traveller a place to rest in the shade after a long day at the “boulodrome”.
