1. What is Erasmus+ ?
Erasmus+ is the new EU Program for Education, Training, Youth and Sport for 2014-2020, starting in January 2014.
Erasmus+ will provide opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train, gain work experience and volunteer abroad.
In addition to providing grants for individuals, Erasmus+ will support transnational partnerships.
What is Erasmus+ ?
Erasmus+ brings together seven existing EU programs in the fields of Education, Training and Youth; it will for the first time provide support for Sport.

2. Erasmus+ Student Mobility for Study Application / Evaluation Criteria
Fall/Spring or Fall + Spring (3 months – 12 months)
Courses taken will be transferred and counted towards OzU graduation requirements. – You must fill out relevant documentation & receive approvals!
No tuition fee at the host institution, continue to pay your OzU tuition
Qualification to go: Having completed freshman year (60 ECTS); CGPA ≥ 2.20
Ranking will be based on «CGPA 50% + language score 50%» for institution selections and mobility grants.
10 points will be deducted automatically from those who have participated in Erasmus or withdrew from the program after having accepted to go.
You may apply for both Erasmus+ and Global Exchange. If you are slotted to both programs for the same semester, you must withdraw from one within the deadline presented by the IO.
Quotas are subject to change.
If new agreements are concluded, additional quotas will be included before the institution selection.
Erasmus Student Mobility for Study Application Dates/Deadlines
English Language Exam (ELE)– 17 December 2015.
Deadline to apply: 14 December 2015, 12:00 noon.
Score: 60/100 to qualify
Results will be valid for two years.
Erasmus+ Application Steps:
1. Register for the Erasmus Language Exam: 30 November - 14 December 2015.
2. Take the ELE on 17 December 2015, 18:40
3. Eligible students must select institutions after ELE results are announced, within the deadlines. (Approximately in February 2016)
Erasmus Student Mobility for Study
Second round placement:
If the new CGPA is above/equal to 2.20 at the end of the Spring term
Applicants who score between 50-60 pts in the Erasmus Language Exam
Applicants who reject the slotted institution and ask to be waitlisted for the second round
Approximately mid-Summer

Erasmus+ Mobility grants Will be announced late summer by the Turkish
National Agency
Are limited.
Do not base your decision on the mobility grants.
In line with the National Agency rules, to support more students, OzU will fund max. 4 months based on the total mobility budget.

How to Choose your Erasmus Destination?
Availability of courses that can be transferred towards OzU graduation requirements Faculty/Institute/School Executive Board transfers the credits
earned based on the ECTS Transcript of Records from the host institution.
You are expected to take 30 ECTS/semester
No overlap in academic semesters
Language of instruction
You must talk to your exchange program coordinator in advance after carefully studying potential institutions of interest!
Please note that tentative course lists may change even after you arrive at the host destination.
How to Choose your Erasmus Destination?
Services offered: housing, orientation etc.
Cost of living (housing, visa/residence permit, health insurance, travel, food, etc.)
Cultural, social, travelling opportunities
Visa/residence permit related costs
Some countries like the Netherlands require residence permit fees around 300 EUR.
Other professional and/or personal preferences
How to make institution selections on SIS?
Wait for the results, further announcements and deadlines. They will also be available on SIS.
Once you are slotted to an institution, you will have three options: 1- Confirm, 2- Reject/Withdraw, 3- Request to be waitlisted for the second placement round.
You must select the respective item on the panel on time. If you do not make any selections, your application will be cancelled.
If you request to be waitlisted for the second round placement, it will take place mid-Summer. Please note there is no guarantee for placement during this round.
Once you confirm your slotted institution…
You will be nominated to the host institution by the OzU IO. Do not get in touch with them before you receive an email from them regarding applications!
Apply to the host institution on time in line with their instructions.
Receive your acceptance letter from the host institution Acceptance is never guaranteed!
Visa, insurance, travel, accommodation arrangements etc. are YOUR OWN responsibility. You must review the requirements of the host institutions as well as respective Consulate/Embassies.
Fill out necessary documents directed by the IO/host institutions.

After nomination, complete your online application to the partner institution
Carry out health insurance, visa, travel, housing etc. related arrangements after acceptance. – Your own responsibility!

Erasmus student placement = INTERNSHIP Minimum 2 months, maximum 12 months.
Enterprise or organization in the EU-27
EU institutions, EU funded projects and Turkish Consulate/Embassies not eligible as host institutions.
Qualification: CGPA ≥ 2.20, min. 60/100 in ELE.
Ranking for the mobility grants among those who find a placement: CGPA 50%, English 50%.
10 points will be deducted from those who have participated in Erasmus or withdrew from the program after accepting to go.
Mobility grant for approximately 10 OzU students, 2 months each.
If you plan to make an internship during the summer of 2016, then you must apply now and take the ELE.

Mandatory Internship and Erasmus+ Placements
Erasmus placement can be counted towards the mandatory internship, BUT
You’ll need to meet the mandatory internship pre-requisites AND the internship has to be separately approved by your Faculty.
ALSO, your internship abroad might qualify for Faculty but NOT for Erasmus (e.g. not in an approved country or shorter than min period).

IO will not find you enterprises. You must find your own placement so research about enterprises and apply individually.
Apply to/register between 30 November - 14 December 2015, 12 noon. (Under SIS/Other Operations)
Take the ELE on December 17th, 2015. Present an acceptance letter and complete the second step of
your application by the deadline: February 29, 2016.
