UPCT is a public university located in the historic Spanish city ofCartagena, in the southeast of Spain and right at theMediterranean Sea. It is specialized in technical and businessstudies.
CARTAGENA
Nanorechnology-based materials fordisruptive marine technologies
We have experience in national and international R&D projects(>35, including their management) and an extensive researchcurriculum. Our research group possesses an ample experience inthe production and characterization of nanomaterials (graphene,CNTs, nanoceramics,…), several fields of engineering (materials, marine,…), nanocomposites, additive fabrication (3D printing) andcomputational work. We develop our research work in closecollaborations with several companies as well as the Spanish Navy(Algameca Naval Station).
Seeking project
13.02.19 14
1. High purity graphene synthesis and characterization.
2. Selection of commercial graphenes depending on application (several partners worldwide).
3. Light nanocomposite materials for ultra high mechanical properties (structural, ballistic, …).
4. Superhydrophobic coatings for drag reduction in vessels.
5. Flame and high temperature resistant paints for ships.
6. Biocide-free antifouling coatings.
7. Nanoreinforced thermoplastics for 3D printing.
