Adobe InDesign CS6

InDesign is the software in which I used to produce my final product. This software allows you to create a product in the format of a magazine. It is a hugely successful software of which most professional magazines would have used such as NME and Q magazine. The software allows you to get the highest possible quality and look for your magazine, using tools and the ability to embed substances from other programmes into its own, for example edited photos from Adobe Photoshop. The software itself is very expensive at around £500 however considering the price there is not many other programmes out there that provide you with the same standards that Adobe does.

Adobe Photoshop CS6

Photoshop is the programme I used during the production of my magazine. It is a software which allows you to edit photos as you wish. The price of the software is around £500

Canon 550D Digital SLR

This is the main camera which I used during my photoshoot for my magazine. The cost of the camera is around £300, however the price can vary depending on the simplicity of the camera and its functions. The camera used in a photoshoot has a massive effect on the quality of the photos to place into the magazine, some photos may turn out to light or too dark, therefore you have to make sure you use the right camera and a specific model dependent on what you are aiming to achieve.

Canon zoom lens EF-S 18-55mm

This is the lens I used during my photoshoot and the one which was assembled onto the front of the Canon 550D. The cost of the zoom lens is around £80 but like any camera, the price can vary according to the quality of the piece and how far in the zoom can go.

White Screen

Whenever a photoshoot takes place, the white screen is one of the most important features. The main function of a white screen is to block out any extra lights so the photo being taken is clear which improves the professionalism of it and the quality. It also makes the editing process a whole lot easier as you can change the background as you wish. These screens are quite cheap compared to the quality of the actual product. Dependent on the size of the screen the price can vary from £10 to around £40.

Interfit Stellar X studio flash lights

The Interfit Stellar X studio flash lights were used during the photoshoot and were placed on all four corners of the screen. The 100 flashers per 6-8 hours allows you to go almost anywhere and everywhere being as creative as possible in those locations that were previously unavailable to standard mono block systems. The price can vary from £150 - £200.
