Camera

In order to shoot footage for my music video, I will need a camera. The camera I will be using will be from the media department. The camera is a Cannon 550D. This camera is ideal than using a normal video recorder as it shoots high quality footage and also has a digital viewer to view the footage as well a camera to also take some shots alongside the shooting.

This camera also has other good qualities in which why I am using it. It’s easy to take around and portable. It’s not too big and not too small to handle.

I have used this camera in my previous projects in GCSE and past AS-Level coursework. So therefore I am confident in using the camera outdoor and indoor.

The lens and other features of the camera ensures that the footage I take is professional, realistic and high quality.

Lighting

I will also get access to lights and a white backdrop for my studio photoshoot which will improve the image itself and have a better high quality. The white backdrop will also make the images easy to edit without having any difficulties. The lights are used for professional shoots which will provide high quality and professional looking images which I can take due to the equipment.

The lighting will be used as a spotlight mainly for the performance which will be shot in a studio, however for the outdoor shooting, I am going to be replying on natural light especially if I am going somewhere in the city and a park.

There will also be a green screen which I can access to as I would need it for effects I would like to include in my video, especially in the performance part of the video.

Software

The software I will be using when it comes to editing all footage and making it into a music video is Adobe Premier. This software is not very familiar with me however I have practised using it in my free time in order to save time sitting in lesson being clueless while editing my video. Premier is an outstanding software in order get a professional finish to my music video.

Another adobe software I will be using is Photoshop. This software will be used to edit my images for my Ancillary Tasks. My images will have small ‘touch up’ whereas some will be edited with the white background cropped. This will be done with the magic wand tool which is simple to use. If I need to fix my models make up or give my image a more professional and ‘model’ type finish to it, the patchwork tool will be very useful. Photoshop also can change the brightness of the colour, Lighting is also a option, I can change my image to make it darker or much brighter and contrast with these options.

I will also be using Adobe InDesign CS6 to start producing my digipak and the magazine advert There are many tools which I will be using to edit or to construct the digipak. The software helps me with the guideline to place things where and not to go over the page. The software is easy and quick to use, and the tools are similar other similar software's I’ve used like Photoshop. InDesign is more easier and quicker to use.
