Multiplying two numbers
The idea is to get a pattern going that shows all the possible answers for numbers that multiplied together make 360. (One has to end in 0) Explain the relationship between consecutive number pairs; that is, indicate what is happening to the first multiple and then to the second.
First find all the numbers that equals to 360
- Keeping in mind that one of the pairs has to end in 01 x 360 yes I have a 0 in that pair2 x 180 I also have a 0 in that pair
So lets look at the next slide with all the numbers equalling to 360 with a 0 in each pair.
1 x 360
2 x 180
3 x 1204 x 906 x 60
9 x 40
10 x 36
12 x 30
18 x 20
Explaining the relationship between the pairs. Lets have a look at this relationship.
1 x 360
2 x 180
4 x 90
Take 1 double it gets 2 take 360 half it gets 180
Take 2 double it gets 4 take 180 half that you get 90
Checking the Ratio of the relationship between the consecutive number pairs:
I’d like everyone to have a go at dividing the numbers on the next slide. Have a look at:
½ = 180/3602/3 = 120/180¾ = 90/1204/6 = 60/906/9 = 40/609/10 = 36/40
10/12 = 30/3612/18 = 20/30
Have a look at this relationship between these number pairs.
180/3 = 120/2360 /2 = 180/136/9 = 40/1030/6 = 60/12
Thank you Fellow Maths Students for listening and being apart of my presentation today.
