The heart of the oil water separation – EPS-Pack provides the most effective removal oil and solid with the lowest cost in any given field especially storm water management.

Egg Plate Separator –A Patented Coalescing Module

EPS-Pack integrates inclined channels set at 45˚ angle from the horizontal and patented bumps underside of plates which allow oil drops to collect on the underside of the plates and form larger globules rising upward to the surface of the water. By Stoke’s Law, larger diameter drops of oil will rise to surface of the water faster. Furthermore, the corrugated plate with set 45˚ enhances separation and minimizes the risk of plugging the media. In Sludge hoppers design, the bottom shape of “V” or pyramid systems allows the solid sludge to converge into the hoppers for easy on-going maintenance of the oil water separator.

EPS-Pack can remove free oil down to 10 ppm with less than 20 microns in size by only the configuration and the arrangement number of plates.

Hybrid System – Cost Effective

To reduce costs, it’s possible to construct a hybrid EPS-Pack which contains all types of models, the bigger spacing gap of EPS Pack at the front and end and the smaller spacing gap of EPS pack at the between them.

Hybrid System

The EPS-Pack is the only coalescing media that offers hybrid system. Generally, as the spacing between any coalescing plates decrease, efficiency well increases, and the gaps increase, both maintenance and efficiency decrease. Plates spacing is the same meaning of surface area. To correct this problem the EPS packs can be arrange the pack with different gap. The bigger spacing gap of EPS Pack at the front and end and the smaller spacing gap of EPS pack at the between them

Vertical and Horizontal configuration

EPS-Pack is the only coalescing media that provides two ways installation; vertical and horizontal sets. As mentioned above, coalescing media plates set 45 angles has weakness of sludge separation although minimizing the risk of plugging. To correct this problem, EPS-Pack provides vertical and horizontal sets. In field with much sludge, horizontal installation can be applied and in less sludge but much oil field vertical installation can be applied.

Underside of EPS-Pack plates incorporates that patented bumps which makes more surface area allow oil drops to collect on the underside of the plates, and form larger globules which then rise toward the surface of the water. By demonstrated by Stoke’sLaw, larger diameter drops of oil will rise to surface of the water faster.

Ease of Maintenance

The EPS-Pack is designed for semi-permanent using and to ease of cleaning. When using a dense packs, clogging of the oil and solids inside the packs appears. To correct this problem, the entire coalescing pack can be pulled out by crane or any operator, and cleaned with high pressure water. Not necessary to clean every weeks or month, but every 6,000 hours.

Adjustable Plates Gab

EPS Pack with spacing down to 0.3 inches have been developed successfully. According to API Publication 421, the typical range of spacing between the plates is 0.75 to 1.5 inches. Packs with spacing from 8mm to 30 mm can be used.

Egg Shape Plate with 45 degrees

The EPS-Pack provides egg shape plate set at 45 degrees. The angle of the plates should be somewhere between 45 and 60 degrees. The Pack with 60 degrees should be used if significant solids in the separator appears. However, EPS Pack with 45 degrees can be used any fields by hybrid system.

The lowest Reynold’s Number

The plate length never exceed 600mm in the EPS-Pack design. It yields a low Equivalent Diameter, further reducing fouling potential and is unique to the EPS-Pack design. A low Equivalent Diameter also leads to a low Reynold’s number, which describes the lower the number the more efficient the coalescing. With lesser turbulence within the coalescing media, there will be more oils and solids removal by Stoke’s Law. Dong Hae has the lowest Equivalent Diameter in the industry as well as the lowest Reynold’s number. Reynold’snumber of Dong Haeis between 350-370 for it's standard separator design criteria.
