Before I bought my Dragonfly R40, I was using an STX Outlet. I had bought the Outlet because it was said to be a light and durable goalie shaft but two weeks after I had bought it, I put a dent in it from a check. I was very disappointed and just put tape over the dent. At the Lax Meltdown tournament last summer I spotted the Epoch Lacrosse tent. After listening to the description of the Dragonfly R40, I ended up buying the last one. I was astonished by how light the shaft really was compared to my other shafts. Combined with my Void Noz Goalie head, I currently own the lightest goalie stick possible. Not only are they light, the Dragonfly shafts give the user a distinct advantage over their opponents in cold weather. The shafts do not get as cold as metal shafts! My first impression of the Dragonfly R40 was that the shaft is unreal. I thought that there was no way my reaction speed and the speed on passes increase by so much by just changing a shaft. The shaft bends in the throwing motion just like how golf clubs bend before hitting a golf ball. By bending, the shaft is able to put more power in every throw. I will never use another type of shaft because I don’t want to decrease my abilities on the field. I use this shaft every day and have recommended it to everyone who I have played lacrosse with.

The reason I chose an Epoch Dragonfly because it was the one carbon fiber shaft that I hadn’t hear a single complaint about. I had seen almost every other manufacturer of carbon fiber shaft’s break, so I was hoping that Epoch would make their shafts in high enough quality so that the Dragonfly shafts wouldn’t have the same fate. Also, the flex numbers of other carbon fiber shaft manufacturer’s had confused me and also made me fearful for buying one of them in case I would end up wasting my money a shaft with a flex that I would not be happy with. Also, the True Temper Technology logo on the side of the shaft gave me confidence that the shafts were tested and made of high quality materials. One thing that stands out about Dragonfly shafts is that they are given out as prototypes to be tested by different players of all skill levels, not just college and professional athletes. Knowing that an eight year old that was new to the game, or a thirty five year old veteran could give feedback on Dragonfly’s during the development process gave me great confidence that Dragonfly’s would perform well in any weather or in any skill level.

The Very first thing I noticed when I purchased my E30 was how light the stick was. Amazing feel as well, I like this shaft in comparison to traditional metal shafts because of the natural grip that comes with it. It feels more alive when I’m playing with it. Not sure if it’s flex in the stick or just how light the thing is, but my first impression was that this is one of the top three (if not the best) stick I’ve used. After playing with the stick for a few days I felt as if I was one with the stick and cannot see myself playing with anything else.

As the leading lacrosse manufacturer we’re proud to stand behind our products, even when we’re confident they’ll do just fine on their own. That’s why we provide a 1-year warranty on all products when purchased from an authorized Epoch dealer.
Warranty Details:
Epoch Lacrosse shafts are warranted to the original owner when purchased from an Authorized Retailer for the period of one year against defects in materials or workmanship under normal game playing conditions typical of the sport of Lacrosse. If an Epoch Lacrosse shaft fails due to a material or manufacturing defect, we offer a 1 time replacement with the same product of one of similar or higher market value. Epoch will use best efforts to replace custom shafts with “same” or “similar” graphics, however we don’t inventory custom products and cannot guarantee an exact replacement.
To request a Return Authorization please email [email protected].
Defective shafts must be shipped, at the owner’s expense with the issued Return Authorization number and copy of the original receipt, to the following address: Epoch Engineering Review; 7642 Washington Ave. South; Eden Prairie, MN 55344.
One the defective shaft is returned, and it has been determined that the failure was a result of material or manufacturing failure and replacement will be sent to the address provided.
*Chips scratches and dents, are to be expected and are not covered under the manufacturers limited warranty. Alloy Shafts (Legend or Mettle) may bend, Slip/Grip is expected to wear and will vary by player to player.
