     Application on a twostroke engine

     The Electronic Indicator Type EPMXP from IMES is a userfriendly instrument for measuring combustion pressure onengines. It is ready for use without set upontheengine.

     The EPMXP replaces tradit ionalmechanical indicator, and hence no

    planimetry or manual calculation isrequired.

     The well proven cylinder pressure

    sensor type HTT is used for measuring the combustion pressure at the indicatorcock valve and then moved from onecylinder to another in order to completemeasurements on all cylinder.

     This robust HTT sensor is characterizeby its high degree of accuracy and long term stability, and can be readily used on th e indica tor valve , eve n at high temperature.

     The comparison to the water cooledpiezoelectric reference sensor showsexcellent thermodynamicresults.

    Operation

    Monitoring of combustion data 

    Peak pressure deviation of eachindividual cylinder can be compared to the actual calculated average peakpressure of the engine before and aftermaintenance work.

    Pcomp value is automatic calculatedon twostroke applications.

     The pressure curves of all enginecylinders can be overlapped a particularly useful feature for ferifying the balancingoftheengine.

    Cylinder pressure curves can be storedand compared as data files. It is alsopossibleto zoomcurves for details.
