    Profession of Faith Nicene C

Christian, in whom do you trust?I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things

visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father

before all worlds:God of God,Light of Light, very God of very God;begotten, not made,

being of one substance with the Father,by Whom all things were made;Who, for us men and for our salvation,

    came down from heaven,and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary,and was made man,and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;He suffered and was buried;and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures,and ascended into heaven,and sits on the right hand of the Father;

and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead;Whose kingdom shall have no end.And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life,

Who proceeds from the Father and the Son,Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified,Who spoke by the prophets.

And I believe in one holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins. And I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen!

    Romans 1.1-171

Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,2

which he promisedbeforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures,

3concerning his Son, who was descended from David

    according to the flesh4

and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by hisresurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,

5through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring

about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations,6

including you who are called to belonJesus Christ,

7To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God

our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.8

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faithproclaimed in all the world.

9For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that witho

    ceasing I mention you10

always in my prayers, asking that somehow by God's will I may now at last succeed in comto you.

11For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you-

    12that is, that we may

mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.13

I want you to know, brothers, that I have often

intended to come to you (but thus far have been prevented), in order that I may reap some harvest among you as weas among the rest of the Gentiles.

14I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to

    foolish.15

So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.16

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, fois the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

    17For in it the

righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, "The righteous shall live by faith."

    Matthew 9.3510.2035

And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel othe kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction.

36When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for the

because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.37

    Then he said to his disciples, "The harvis plentiful, but the laborers are few;

38therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into h

harvest." 10:1 And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them oand to heal every disease and every affliction.

2The names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is cal

Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;3

    Philip and Bartholomew; Thomasand Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;

    4Simon the Cananaean, and Judas

    Iscariot, who betrayed him.5

These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, "Go nowhere among the Gentiles andenter no town of the Samaritans,

6but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

    7And proclaim as you go,

saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.'8

Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. Youreceived without paying; give without pay.

9Acquire no gold nor silver nor copper for your belts,

    10no bag for your

journey, nor two tunics nor sandals nor a staff, for the laborer deserves his food.11

And whatever town or village yoenter, find out who is worthy in it and stay there until you depart.

12As you enter the house, greet it.

    13And if the ho

is worthy, let your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.14

And if anyone will notreceive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town.

    15Truly, I

to you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.16

"Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

    17

Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to courts and flog you in their synagogues,18

    and you will be dragged

before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the Gentiles.

    19

When they deliver you ovedo not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in thathour.

20For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
