FAVORING FACTORS FOR THE
EPIDEMIOLOGICAL PROCESS
FAVORING FACTORS
By themselves, in the absence of the three determinant factors, they can not generate an epidemiological process (EP)
Their intervention may modify the evolution of the epidemiological process usually they amplify the EP, they generate excess
morbidity and/or mortality they can generate particular aspects for the EP sometimes they reduce the amplitude of the EP
Favoring Factors
Classification:
natural factors
socioeconomic factors
Natural Favoring Factors
Climate Weather phenomena Geographical location Cosmic factors (cosmic radiation, etc.)
Natural Amplifying Factors
Weather and climate changes or phenomena: precipitations, rainfall temperature and temperature modification
high temperature low temperature extreme temperatures sudden changes of temperature
atmospheric pressure (high, low, variations) extreme weather conditions
Natural Amplifying Factors
Extreme events: flood earth quake volcanic eruption tsunami wave solar storm ...
Social or Economical Factors
Life and working conditions: living conditions dietary habits quality of water source social and economical standard educational level profession socioeconomic disorders
Amplifying Factors
Natural , social and economic factors: usually they are associated generally it is difficult to measure the
contribution of each of these factors
