Paperless CIDCO with eOffice Background CIDCO works on lakhs of paper based files/documents. The need for transforming conventional government offices into more efficient and transparent e-office thereby eliminating huge amounts of paperwork has long been felt. It puts forward environmental issues and operational inefficiency. There exists duplication of efforts and no data is standardised. In CIDCO, it was felt that discrete units of office automation systems that were implemented be replaced with a complete suite of products to various needs in the office that can be used across all departments and all offices. Location The application is on the servers in CIDCO Data Centre and it can be accessed by all CIDCO employees on the intranet or internet. Scale City Cost Rs. 100 Lakh Date of Commencement January 2015 Date of Completion December 2015 Detailed Scope CIDCO plans to bring desired level of transparency as well as efficiency in the day-to-day working by deploying eOffice software suit. The eOffice product pioneered by National Informatics Centre (NIC) aims to support governance by using more effective and transparent inter and intra-government processes. Objectives of eOffice implementation are- Standard architecture & framework Global directory and data storage (Information and Data repository) Support integration & interoperation Avoid duplication of efforts & redundant data storage Flexibility for scaling/evolving Centralised file and work flow system Architecture of the eOffice suite offers Open architecture & technology neutral Common data sets and standards Role based access for authorisation Directory based authentication Workflow manager Open standards & technologies based Unicode compliant - support for Marathi language
