We will never Forget those we lost in the struggle of independence, but this
memorial is not for us, although we have been entrusted with its creation. It
is for our children and grandchildren. It is so those who hear about the Igbo
people, know what happened to their fathers, why so many of them died toprotect our freedoms! We believe that this memorial will serve as a strong
spiritual focal point in a revitalizing Nigeria.
