Elsa Kremser was born in 1985 in Wolfsberg, Austria. In Vienna, she completed her first film projects and took lectures at the Filmakademie Wien. In 2008, she finished her studies of Film Science at the University of Vienna. In her second school, the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, she focused on international production and documentary filmmaking. Since 2014, she has been working as a producer and writer in Vienna. Her films were shown and awarded at several film festivals internationally.

Projects in Development

At the moment, she is preparing the formation of a Vienna based production company together with Levin Peter. Since 2011, they have been shooting a long-term documentary about an experimental restorer – an unconventional and entertaining insight into an ambivalent existence in Vienna. Furthermore, they are researching for a poetic essay about a socially disordered city from the perspective of stray dogs. They want to produce documentaries for cinema with an intensive formal approach – movies that pose questions instead of giving answers.

Alchemy, a documentary road movie by Nastia Tarasova. It was shot in the USA and Canada and follows an adventurous home brewer from Pennsylvania who undertakes an unexpectedly harsh journey to brew an old recipe of Arctic ale, popular with the 19-century British sailors searching for the North-West passage. The uniqueness of this project is that it gives a Russian filmmaker’s vision of the American mentality. The premiere of the project is planned for 2014.
