i am delighted to extend a warm welcome on behalf of derry City council and our partners to enterprise Week 2015. this is the fi nal Enterprise event to be delivered by derry City Council as we approach an exciting new era for local government and the merger with our close neighbouring district strabane.

as a region the north West is second to none in terms of skill, innovation and talent, and through events like Enterprise Week our Business opportunities Team seeks to develop, support and mentor new and existing companies hoping to take their business to the next level.

These are challenging times, and as a region we have some substantial obstacles to overcome in terms of job creation and regenerating and revitalising our economy. Therefore it’s vital that businesses throughout derry and strabane take a cohesive approach to tackling the issues which aff ect our region, and avail of the expertise and opportunities which events such as enterprise Week off er.

The Craft awards and Fashion show is being hosted as part of the Craft development programme to recognise, celebrate and raise the profi le of our vibrant craft sector. the event will take place on the evening of Friday, 27th February in the Guildhall and will include a glitzy awards ceremony and dinner as well as a contemporary fashion show to showcase the best of local knitwear from emerging and established designers - building on the momentum and legacy of Fashion Fest 2014.

The awards will be presented across a number of categories including Ceramics, Jewellery, Textiles, Mixed Media, Most innovative product, Best newcomer, a student award as well as a special ‘people’s Choice’ winner to be decided by public vote. short-listed entries will also be on display in the lead-up to the event.

clinical translational entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (cteIP)

CTEip has been developed to provide consultancy/mentoring support to participants in the derry City and Strabane district, to a maximum of £10,000 per participant who have early stage, post-research, clinical projects that have commercial potential. You are eligible to apply if you are a prestart entrepreneur or established business within the healthcare sector.
