Maria WEIR Vice President (Applied Research & Innovation) AREOPA

Ludo Pyis is the founder and president of AREOPA He started his career in 1977 as Management Trainer for General Motors, and as Sales and Management Trainer for Dip Adviesbureau. In 1983, he joined Hewlett Packard as European Quality Manager. In 1988, he became President of Atlas Consult, a management consulting group active in W-Europe, Bulgaria, US. In 1992, he founded AREOPA, a management consulting group specialized in Change Management, Intellectual Capital Calculation and Learning & Knowledge Management .

Maria Weir is the Vice President of Applied Research and Innovation at AREOPA. She is also the author of a number of papers in peer-reviewed journals in the field of managing IC in KIBS firms and in the area of public policy in the management of IC. Her research interests lie at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and IC Management. She studies how businesses use IC to create innovation approaches both in production and service delivery and also in business model changes that adopt to new market conditions by leveraging their IC. She explores how small firms manage the process of rapid change, and how large organizations manage their Innovation and IC as a combination to gain competitive advantage.
