Weekly message from Ms Wakeley-Jones

Hello Enterprise House, I hope you are all well and had a relaxing and calming Christmas.Well, this all feels a little déjà vu doesn’t it?! But I’m feeling a bit short changed: at least we had nearly 3 months of freedom at the start of last year before lockdown!I understand that some of you may be feeling anxious, frustrated and fed up about this return to full lockdown, and that’s only natural. Lockdown fatigue is expected, but is essential to abide by the law: our corona alert level is at 5 – meaning there is a serious and imminent risk that the NHS could be overwhelmed. We have the simplest and easiest way to help: don’t leave home.There are 3 massively positive differences between last year and this time however:1. There are 2 vaccines already being distributed around the country;2. For those taking exams this year, the government has already begun putting contingency plans

in place;3. Our online teaching methods are more robust.Stay at home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.

You can enter this competition remotely by sending photos and videos to houseleaders@cc-hs.com• You could videos of drama, dance or music

performances (either as an individual or with someone in your household)

• Photos can be sent in of drawings, paintings, sculptures, photographs or creative make-up (anything can be a canvas)

• The deadline will be announced at a later date

EACH WEEK YOU WILL BE SHOWN CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES THAT YOU CAN JOIN

EVERY TIME YOU ATTEND AN EXTRA CURRICULAR CLUB OR ACTIVITY YOU WILL EARN AWARD POINTS FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR HOUSE.

AT THE END OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR THE HOUSE WITH THE MOST AWARD POINTS WILL WIN THE HOUSE CUP

Mental health during lockdown1. Instead of teaching Yr9 Rotation lessons, Yr9 tutors will use this time to make

welfare calls to their tutees (Tuesday P5 for the B half and Friday P2 for the A half)

2. Pupils in Yr10&11 will be contacted by members of the Pastoral Team3. If you are feeling anxious, stressed, overwhelmed or depressed during lockdown,

or just need someone to talk to – you can contact any member of staff via edulink (including your tutors, HoY, PM and House Leader) or email

Please make sure that whilst learning from home, you are on time for your lessons.

Tutor period from next week

⋆ Your Tutor Period will start this week. Every Year 9, 10 and 11 will have a weekly lesson with your Form Tutor. This will not be at the same time each week, it will change from week to week so that you do not miss the same lesson each time.

⋆ In this form period you will be taught PSHEE, discuss attendance, uniform, rewards, and behaviour.

⋆ Year 9 will continue to have their scheduled Tutorial.

Please note that during lockdown and online teaching – there will be no tutor periods online, no intervention lessons, no rotation lessons and no core PE.
