Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School

- Established in 2004

- The initiative for the establishment of IPS came from the JSI. It was strongly supported

by industry (Gorenje, Kolektor, Salonit) and an international network of cooperating

universities and research institutes from European Union, the USA, Japan, and a number

of other countries.

Programes:

•Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies

•Information and Communication Technologies

•Ecotechnology

Page 10: Enterprise Europe Network Slovenia & Josef Stefan Institute

NANOS SCIENTIFICAE d.o.o. • Multi-purpose magnetic nanoparticles for the R&D in the ares of

targeted delivery of medicinal substances, healing of cancer with hyperthermia, MR imaging, diagnosing tumors, separation of proteins in biopharmaceuticals, and nanotoxicology.

PARTICULARS d.o.o. • Measuring systems for laboratories which deal with semiconductor

detectors for charged particles. Their measuring systems enable much more effective studies of radiation injuries in LHC in Cern.

RGA d.o.o. • The company develops highly productive grain genetics (F1

hybrids, lines with desired characteristics, synthetics) for regional and global seed industry. Their new species will be more effective and better adapted to the climatic conditions.

Jožef Stefan Institute: Spin-Out companies

Page 11: Enterprise Europe Network Slovenia & Josef Stefan Institute

• The largest and the most successful TTO in Slovenia • Financially independent within the Institute – 7 EU projects currently – At least 3% share in contracts – Consulting contracts with companies – Enterprise Europe Network national coordinator • 13 experts – 8 sci-tech (2 MBA, LLM, PA, MSc), 3 econ (1 MSc), 1 laws, 1 social.sci – 4 PhDs, 3 MSc – Patent Attorney – Members ASTP, LES, Certification CLP (ongoing)

Center for Technology Transfer and Innovation

Our focus: - Protection and Marketing of IPR - Licensing - Spin-outing - Contract and Collaborative Relations - Research on TT and Innovation
