AT COMO MAALIFUSHI

Take the chance to get up close with whale sharks, the largest fish in the sea. From the resort, we take you by boat to join them under the waves or you can watch them from the deck.

Once signed up, we will call you when there has been a whale shark sighting – anytime between 6pm and 10pm. Our boat will take you 20 minutes north under a star-speckled night sky. The Maldives’ clear waters allow for an aquarium-like view of the gentle giants. The whale sharks usually ignore the snorkellers while feeding. They swim majestically and slowly, allowing you to watch them in peace.

Snorkelling with the whale sharks is priced at US$250 per person. Observing them from the boat costs US$150 per person. The excursions takes around two hours and is only available from December to April.

We provide towels, snorkelling gear, wetsuits and drinking water. Please bring your swimming costume and a camera if you wish to take photos (you can rent underwater cameras from the Marine Sports Centre). Professional photos and videos are available for an additional cost.

For more information or to book, please contact the Marine Sports Centre.

Please note: This activity is dependent on the whale shark’s behaviour; we cannot guarantee they will appear. Prices are subject to tax and service charge. We take a maximum of six people snorkelling and six people observing on any trip. The minimum age of observers is six years old; to snorkel, you must be aged over 12.
