Enter the Jambo 2015 Stadium Show Emcee Contest
Jambo 2015 is still two months away, but the excitement is building! We are looking for an outgoing, energetic, enthusiastic Minsi Trails Council Boy Scout, Venturer, or Explorer age 14 and up to emcee the evening stadium show on May 16th at Kutztown University. As emcee, you will have the opportunity to “pump up” the crowd, introduce our guest speakers, announce the acts and talent on stage, and be the “face” of the Jambo stadium show. This is a great opportunity to show your speaking skills and enthusiasm in front of a crowd of 6,000 or so fellow Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, Explorers, leaders, parents, Scouting alumni, and guests. How to Enter: First, complete the online registration bio that tells us a little about yourself, your contact information, and why you’d like to emcee the Jambo 2015 stadium show. Go to www. minsitrails.com/jambo2015 to register. Then, upload a private video that demonstrates your emcee ability (no longer than 3 minutes) to YouTube and share it with Donald Sachs at [email protected]. Please note that youth under 18 will need parent/guardian permission, and only private videos will be viewed. All entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. on March 20, 2015. An emcee will be selected and contacted in April.

Jambo 2015 is less than 10 weeks away. We’re excited to announce some new and exciting programs for Jambo. The National Museum of Industrial History will be on site on Saturday. While going through this exciting hands on station, you will be able to complete the blacksmith track of Metalworking merit badge (requirement 5d). Make sure to bring a signed blue card along so you can receive partial credit for the merit badge.
On Saturday morning, we will be hosting an early morning run around the Kutztown University campus. Come on out to start your day off right. You can register today for the run at www.minsitrails.com/jambo2015.
If running or blacksmithing isn’t your thing, that’s ok, there are a lot of fun and exciting things to do at Jambo 2015. This year, Skirmish USA will be doing a paintball shoot, so come on out and see how you do. We will also be hosting an archery station. How many times can you hit the bull’s-eye?
We need your help for Jambo too! To get involved, please contact Diane Lariar at (610) 465-8563 or Chuck Yeoman at (732) 921-1746. We can’t wait to see you there for #jambo2015!
We can’t wait to see you at the JAMBO 2015 Cub Scout area! We will have busy Cub Scouts with tons of “hands on” activities. Our Cub Scouts can challenge another den to go through the obstacle course, play in the big game at football toss and work your rhythm under the bar at the limbo stick. There is so much fun to see and do; you will be amazed! If you are a Webelos
Scout, you can spend some time working on your Readyman pin. Visit www.jambo/2015 to register for a morning or afternoon session. We are also looking to hear from YOU. What would you like to see in the Cub Scouting area at JAMBO 2015? Send your ideas or if you want to volunteer to help with an activity, contact Mike LaPolla at 570-497-6734 or [email protected]. Make it YOUR JAMBO.
Jambo Radio is on the Air! Bring your radios to Kutztown University! Listen on your cell phone during the drive for traffic instructions and arrival information. During Jambo 2015, hear upcoming events, attractions, weather, music, interviews, and news. In addition, all major events will be simulcast including the opening show, closing show and music for fireworks. Whether you’re walking around or in your campsite, don’t miss a thing; listen all weekend long to Jambo Radio, the sound of Jambo 2015! Deejays, roving reporters and other volunteer staff are still needed (Scouts and adults!).
Contact Lisa Finkelstein at 610-465-8556 or [email protected] for volunteering opportunities.

If you are in a Venture Crew and plan to attend Jambo 2015 then come with your crew! Why come as crew? An excellent question! The Venturing Team is putting together another awesome weekend of fun for you and your Crew!
On Friday, we are planning an ice cream social and canned food drive. Don’t forget your swim suit and a canned good to be donated! Also, on Friday night we will have Karaoke; so start practicing your favorite tunes to show off your singing skills. On Saturday, we will continue the fun-filled weekend with sports, games, and competitions.
Plus, we are working to bring local high adventure resources to showcase their activities for you. Of course, we will have the BIG SHOW Saturday night and after the fireworks, we will close the night with an outstanding Dance Party just for Venture Crews.

Jambo 2015 is quickly approaching – to make this event successful, we need your help! Every registered unit will identify a volunteer coordinator and is expected to supply at least one volunteer per every 5 of their youth attending Jambo 2015. These adult helpers will be required to spend at least 2 hours at a designated station; those who commit for at least a 4-hour shift by May 1st will receive a commemorative tee-shirt. Expertise required other than enthusiasm is minimal as these activities are likely “unskilled.” Please sign-up today at:
