Sample Transformer DetailsDetailed information on a representative subset of the transformers is presented here to illustrate the range of instance modeling requirements encountered in the project. Three utility transformers were chosen (names are for reference purposes only and do not reflect the actual location of any transformer):
Chattanooga Xf3 – a 230/115 kV transmission transformer with one tank Sumpter Xf56 – a 161/13.2/13.2 kV 3-winding transmission to distribution transformer with
one tank Nashville Xf3 - a 765/345/34.5 kV autotransformer with tertiary, comprised of three single-
phase tanks in a transformer bank Pictures of the three sample transformers are shown in Figures 1-1, 1-2 and 1-3 and one-line schematics of the three sample transformers are provided in Figures 1-4, 1-5 and 1-6.

Sumpter Xf56 is a 161/13.2/13.2 kV 3-winding transmission to distribution transformer with one tank.

Nashville Xf3 is a 765/345/34.5 kV autotransformer with a tertiary winding. The transformer is comprised of three single-phase tanks (one of which is shown in Figure 4-3 in the factory before it was shipped) in a transformer bank.
