FALL 2014 ENSEMBLE AUDITION SCHEDULE
Important information:
All music students are required to take two credits of ensemble each semester.
At least one of those credits must be on your primary instrument or voice.
All students may audition for any combination of ensembles as long as it fulfills their majorrequirements.
Please arrive at your audition 5 minute searly with your tuned instrument (if applicable).
University Choir / Chamber SingersStudents should prepare one solo and be ready to sight-read.

Concert Band / Wind Ensemble / University OrchestraStudents should prepare a solo and/or etude that demonstrate technical (fast) and lyrical (slow) facility.Percussionists should be prepared to perform on snare, tympani, and mallets.

Studio Orchestra / Jazz/Rock Big Band / Small Jazz and Jazz Lab EnsemblesBe prepared to perform a jazz standard and improvise if possible. An amp and drum set will be available inthe audition room.Auditions for all jazz ensembles will take place during this time slot. You will inform the panel whichensemble(s) you are interested in placing into at the audition.Note: Jazz/Rock Big Band does not fulfill ensemble requirements for students enrolled prior to Fall 2013.

Mixed Chamber Ensemble / Electric and Classical Guitar EnsemblesAll students who are not otherwise auditioning for a two-credit ensemble must audition for Mixed ChamberEnsemble. A meeting is required for all students interested in Mixed Chamber.Optional auditions for Electric and Classical Guitar Ensemble will occur following the Mixed Chambermeeting. Prepare one piece for this audition.

Piano EnsembleStudents should prepare a piece that demonstrates technical and musical abilities, and also be prepared to sight-read. Pianists may also be placed in Mixed Chamber Ensemble at this time.
