From the Principal…..
Hi everyone,
This week we were joined by Weilmoringle, Dubbo and Charliville DE students for our science day. The students were all excellent representatives of Enngonia PS and everyone enjoed the day. Next week our Preschool consultant will be joining Miss Petty in the preschool Tuesday and Wednesday. We are continuing to develop our school plan for 2018-2020. This will be presented to the community at the P&C Meeting on the 5th December. Any feedback regarding this plan is valued. Our school, along with all those in the Bourke area roll onto a new finance system. This change is going to take the rest of this term to fully in place. Please be paitent if you require to make or recieive payments, as this process will take longer than usual. My student of the week this week is Larvenus Dickson. Larvenus receives this award for her enthusiastic involvement and positive attitude towards the footy for fun clinic and the science day. Well done, Larvenus!
Regards, Melissa Harrison

Preschool News Week 3 has been a busy week at our school and preschool was excited to be involved in these
many wonderful events.
This week we were visited by a company running a Footy for Fun program. They ran a
workshop that taught the children how to hold, throw and kick a ball properly. They also had
the opportunity to learn and practice tackling on big cushions and complete an obstacle course.
The pre-schoolers had so much fun using a rainbow parchute and playing catching games.
We also had a visit from Mr Eastwell, and preschool was invited to watch his science show
on lightining. Everyone found it a little frightening but very interesting when he made small
lightning bolts.
As the week got hotter, we decorated pieces of cardboard which we turned into fans. These
were very beautiful and kept us all cool.
Another exciting thing we did in preschool this week was build a dinosaur out of cardboard
boxes. We painted scales, eyes, legs and teeth on it and named him George. We also made up a
story about him losing his tooth and meeting the tooth fairy. We continue in preschool,
brushing our own teeth as well to keep them clean.
Dramatic Play
On Monday Bella brought in a pretend beauty kit and we set a beauty salon for the day. The children all took turns pretending to apply each
others makeup use the fake hairdryer.
Later in the week they wanted to play doctors and so we set up Enngonia Hospital. There is a
reception, waiting room and doctor surgery. Everyone had so much fun playing the different roles; answering phones, being a patient and
fixing their friends.

On Tuesday we were visited by representatives of Country Rugby League
who ran a Footy for Fun workshop for the students. The pre-schoolers
learned ball skills and completed an obstacle course, while the primary
students played many fun games such as Octopus tag and Oztag.

On Wednesday Mr
Eastwell came and did a
science show on lightning.
He taught the students
what to do in the event
of a lightning storm and
impressed everyone with
small static shots. There
was a sausage sizzle for
lunch and in the afternoon
everyone broke into small
groups and tested many
different powders to solve
a pretend crime using
forensic science. We were
joined on the day by
Weilmeringle and some
Charleville and Dubbo
Distance Education
students. It was a great
day and the students
should all be commended
on their willingness to mix
with other students and
learn new things.
