Introducing yournew bird feederOffering a new bird feeder,whether it’s the first to be hung or a new one to add to an estab-lished feeding station, is a great way to bring a variety of birds to your yard.

SEED SELECTION:Use any of our seed blends that include black oil sunflower to attract a wide range of birds. Selective mixes also contain nut-meats and fruits which may spur the arrival of titmice, jays and woodpeckers.

FEEDER VISIBILITY:Birds discover feeders by sight, so place your bird feeders where they’re easily seen by them...and you!

HABITAT:Hang or mount feeders near trees and shrubs, new plantings or a brush pile that will offer cover for the birds.A bird bath or other water source will also make your yard more attractive to the birds you want to see.

FIRST VISITORS:Finches and chickadees may be the first species to arrive to dine, as these little acrobats are among the most curious and adven-turesome of all birds. Once the chickadees have found a feeder, the titmice and other favorite birds will not be far behind.

BIRD BATHSAdd a water feature to your yard!Fun fact: water attracts all kinds of birds.Birds of all species need water for bathing, drinking and preening, and while birds will use even the smallest puddle to bathe in, adding a bird bath or water feature will draw them out to be seen in your yard.There’s a great pleasure to be had in just watching birds and their antics at a bird bath. The general joy that birds seem to feel while splashing around as they bathe is very fun to witness, and sure to bring smiles to the whole family.Not only will a bird bath attract the birds already coming to your bird feeders, it will also be visited by migrating birds passing through the area as well as those birds species that don’t frequent feeders. Set up a bird bath or two, and consider adding a moving water feature like the water wiggler as the ripplng sound and visual movement will be attractive to birds . . .Then be sure to keep an eye out for the fun of frequent bathers!
