Introduction: eni’s Commodity Code List

The commodity codes tree gathers ALL the codes adopted by eni forits procurement processes The commodity codes tree is made up of round 1,500 items so called

Commodity Codes every Commody Code is codified by means of eight alphanumeric characters.

Codification identifies the object both of the qualification and procurementprocesses

the Merchandise Tree organizes Commodity Codes into levels. Every levelrepresents similar purchasing items by nature or type

N.B. Qualification or procurement process is exclusively related toCommodity Codes not to their level of aggregation

Description of Goods and Services plus Works

The 1st level (Family) recognizes the type of purchasing item: Goods,Services or Works

Goods (BB): consist of finished goods, products or raw materials

Services (SS): all activities such as professional services, maintenance, transports…

Works (LL): all activities aimed at the construction, installation or modification of civil works,industrial works or some parts of these

We are interested in beingregistered as eni qualified vendor, but it’s not easy to find the mostappropriate Commodity Codes

I can give you some usefuladvices for this. I anticipate youthat there are two ways that

can be used to seek a Commodity Code

Vendor/user eniN.B. The application for vendor qualification is exclusively related to Commodity Codes and not to

their level of aggregation The selected Commodity Codes must suit the Candidate’s business activities

You can use eni’s commodity codes tree either in excel© table or in web basedformat. The web based format is placed inside the questionnaire at «Object of the application» section. For both formats you proceed with selecting hierachical levels in order to get a subset of Commodity Code.
