ENHANCING THE SUCCESS OF WOMEN IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
A Message from the President: Laurie Parker
SUCCESS
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier
because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.
– Bessie Stanley
We are all guilty of “sweating the small stuff”. I challenge
each of you to take a moment; yes, STOP what you are doing
right NOW. Close your eyes, take a deep breath. Do it again,
inhaling and exhaling very slowly. Now, SMILE. You are a
powerful, beautiful, courageous person. Reflect for just a
moment of all of the things you have to be grateful for, even
the small stuff!
Slow down every day in this hectic world we live in to smile,
be grateful, meditate, listen to uplifting music, show an act of
kindness (to someone who deserves it AND someone who is
eligible for grump of the day). Acts of kindness benefit the
giver, the receiver, and everyone they encounter.
Wishing you all a very Blessed Spring!
We Can MAKE A MEASURABLE DIFFERENCE!
Laurie Parker
"Carry out a random act of kindness,
with no expectation of reward,
safe in the knowledge that one day
someone might do the same for you."

SMART GOAL SETTING SEMINAR
Most people waste energy when not focused on
goals that will translate a vision into an action
plan.
January 27, 2018 the Northshore chapter
sponsored a goal setting seminar open to
members and the public, that would provide
tools to establish SMART goals and teach
attendees tools to help turn their goals into
projects, tasks and ACHIEVEMENTS.
Andrea Picou, owner of “On Your Business
Coaching” and a Goldman Sachs 10K Small
Business Faculty member was an excellent
teacher! She challenged us to consider our
thinking process and how effective we are at
achieving our goals. She then led us thru
working on our goals, establishing the values
that guide our decisions, strategizing and
systematizing our business and personal lives.
