    BUSINESS ENGLISH: PRONUNCIATION AND

    PRESENTATION SKILLSJANUARY INTAKE (Commencing 17 January 2012)

    Sypnosis

    Presentation Skills in Business English is an intensive training program designed to

    provide cutting-edge skills for making presentations in standard English. While

    executives may be experienced in making presentations, presenting in the English

    language may be a challenge for non-English speakers.

    Learning Outcomes

    Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

    speak confidently with clarity and precision

    understand the formats appropriate for speaking in formal and informal

    situations

    differentiate between the different types of presentations and utilize them

    appropriately

    handle a question and answer session

    use visual aids in an appropriate manner

    Target Audience

    Corporate executives, managers of law firms, accounting firms, banks and

    investment houses, senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps

    and decision makers in the education sector.

    Duration

    40 hours over 10 weeks

    Commencement date: 17 January 2012

    Time: 5.30pm 7.30pm

    Facilitator

    Dr Adrian E Hare

    Dr Hare has a Certificate in Education from the University of Essex; a Bachelors in

    Philosophy (TESL) from the University of Birmingham, a Masters in Applied

    Linguistics from the University of Essex and a PhD in Linguistics from the National

    university of Singapore.

    He has more than 30 years experience teaching English language and linguistics at

    undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has worked in Abu Dhabi, the UK, Qatar,

    Saudi Arabia and Singapore, and has spent more than 25 years teaching in

    Malaysia.

    He has conducted courses in English for Specific Purposes for universities,

    companies and organizations.

    Dr Hare is head of the Department of English at HELP University.
