Events Leading Up to WWII
• June 28, 1919: the Treaty of Versailles—peace treaty stating the end of war between the Germany and the Allies.
• October 29, 1929: the Great Depression begins in the U.S.
• January 30, 1933: Adolf Hitler is appointed Chancellor of Germany.
• March 7, 1936: Hitler reoccupies the Rhineland, which goes against the Treat of Versailles.
• March 12, 1938: Hitler seizes Austria without any opposition from the Austrian people.
• September 29, 1938: Munich Conference
• November 9, 1938: Kristallnacht rages throughout Germany.
• August 23, 1939: Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact
• September 1, 1939: Germany invades Poland, which is the event that starts World War II.
