Overview

Founded in 2006 in Damascus, Syria by architect Anas Alrez and civil engineer Maissa Chaar, Forma operates a full detailed design. Since then, the artistic edge of Forma, the Chief architect, and management skills and experience in the construction sector by Chief civil Engineer Maissa Chaar, has grown Forma Architecture into one of the most prominent and respected practices in Syria. The prominence gained in the first years of experience in its native country has brought to Forma Architecture high reputation from all Syria and then at other regional States Mixing our technical knowledge with a Culture taste for beauty, characteristic of the design "Made in Syria" Before we start any design we put the "IF" question If we have to design an International style or have to approach the spirit of the local cultural depending on project site, concentrates and client requirements.

Maissa Chaar

Partner General Manager After the Civil engineering studies, Maissa obtained a civil degree at the Damascus University in 1988. In 2006 She cofounded Forma Architecture & Interior design office, where is responsible for Managements. She had the Consultant geotechnical engineer degree from Engineers Syndicate, Damascus, Syria in 2007. Site supervision, site investigation supervision, geotechnical report Auditing, design reviews and checking specifications. In-depth understanding of soil behavior. Extensive experience in geotechnical laboratory works. 3D and 2D modelling of foundations. Producing and setting out geotechnical specifications for field Investigation and lab tests and their final reports. During these years she has been involved in management studies, and business developments, and coordinating.

Anas Alrez

Partner Chief Architect After the Architectural studies, Anas obtained an Architecture degree at the Damascus University in 2003. In 2006 he cofounded Forma Architecture & Interior design office, where is responsible for the design. During these years he has been involved in architecture design, at any scale, both in public and private sectors, working on prestigious projects nationwide and internationally. His passion for design led him also take on projects related to Interior Design and fittings in various fields. Winning several local and Arab architectural competitions, Post global competitions. In 2016 he obtained master degree in Chaillot – Syria (cité d'architecture et patrimoine) Damascus University.

The first thoughts that come to peoples’ attention when trying to describe me is that I am very patient, outstanding, possess good listening skills, control my feelings and reactions, allowing with strong ability to me to create and have an excellent relationship. Accumulated seven years of extensive experience working for several consultancy companies (GCEC, Halcrow) on HVAC systems design such as (Governmental facilities, hotels, apartments, and transformer substations, parking and other buildings). By definition, Landscape Architecture and Design is an environmentally sound activity. Geotechnical Engineering

Many projects integrate our environmental, water resources and ecological expertise, fields that are highly synergistic with our comprehensive knowledge of soil behavior, water groundwater flow, and earth science. The underground is often thought of as a “black box,” full of risk and uncertainty. Through expert analysis, design and discussion with our clients, we reduce the unknowns and get projects out of the ground on time and on budget. Every site poses a unique mix of challenges, such as tight space, neighboring buildings, contamination, complex regulations, community concerns and more. Forma designs solutions that address those unique challenges. We work in a variety of construction scenarios. We help plan, estimate and schedule the underground elements of a project, a piece that is often “fast tracked” to get construction started and out of the ground. We provide a host of expert services to owners, architects, contractors and construction companies, offering creative, practical and cost-effective solutions to the challenges that so often arise during construction. We are conducting project geotechnical works from A to Z: Setting out technical spec’s for geotechnical works, producing financial and technical offers and bids, contracting with contractors, supervision and conduction of field works, carrying out soil or rock lab tests, preparing geotechnical reports to include site and lab results in addition to (analysis, type of foundation, bearing capacity and settlement) as well as their recommendations.

Location: Iran-Tehran Client: Designing In Tehran Competition land (B), Year: 2008 Architect: Anas Alrez, Description: Areas: in about 1500 m² lot, comprising twelve floors (including four below ground level). The gross floor areas and intended use of each floor are as follows: - Underground levels from -4 to -2, 1200 m² each, for use as car parking space - Underground level -1, 1200 m² for use as car parking and storage space (in equal proportions) Ground level and first floor, 1200 m² each, subdivided into 3 commercial units, each spanning both floors - Floors second 675 m², for use as apartments Corporate party: United colors Benetton, Italy Concept: The aim of the contest is to bring together ideas and identify solutions that will provide the best and most coherent integration of the structures in the local urban and commercial setting, with projects that take into account cultural and technical aspects, in order to enhance the buildings, making them recognizable, with a clear sense of identity. The spaces in question will be used for commercial premises and offices, and crucial in these designs will be the ability to convey the sense that these spaces are interpreted with contemporary sensitivity.

2008 – SMI – Syrian Metal Industry– Adra: (Halcrow)

The project is a steel Billet manufacturing plant with a capacity of 630.000 t/y of billets, with about 250*700m. Client: Hamsho Group The project requirement was to prepare a full geotechnical specification for the entire project area, in addition to the site supervision of the site geotechnical investigation and the auditing of the geotechnical reports. 2009 - Massar Parking (Halcrow)

Client: Al Marasem The project is located at the ground of old Damascus International faire in the center of Damascus. The project consist of tow basement 300x80 m, the tow basement are car park. The design target capacity is 1600 cars. Leading the role of supervising a third party consultant employed by the client to carry out the site investigation and the preparation of the geotechnical report. This has included the preparation of all needed geotechnical specification and associated Auditing for the supervision and report preparation. In addition to the mentioned responsibilities, the shoring design was a main deliverable of the required services. 1998-2010 - The Fifteen Grain Cells contract all over syria,( General Company for Engineering Studies and Consulting- Syria. Damascus Performing a full geotechnical assessment studies for the fifteen concrete grain cells with a capacity of 100,000 tons each in cooperation with Iranian Tosee Siloha company.

Living room: It adopted a design in a modern and contemporary style and attempt to extrapolate the future any Space were lines more bendable and versatile. Functionally been Space divided into two corners key sectors 1 - a special corner of the receiver 2. Special corner livelihood. The adoption of ores and contemporary materials such as wood, parquet was to give warmth and richness of the space.

Master Bedroom: Was based on the study of the space to modernity in terms of the composition of primary lines, and relied on a major movement that runs from the basic element in the bedroom: the bed was undertaken by the wall and the ceiling in the form of an inverted u and study of similar color to give the chosen color depth and versatile. The Siding materials were rich and complementary to the design elements, tiles from marble and wooden walls to give a feeling of warmth
