1. The hormone that influence human behaviour.

Androgen

0Also called androgenic hormone or testoid

0Androgens are the group of sex hormones that give

men their ‘male’ characteristics.

0The major androgen is testosterone.

Oestrogen and Progesterone

0Oestrogen and progesterone are hormones produced

in a women's ovaries before menopause.

0They both play a critical role in the menstrual cycle

and pregnancy.

2. The function of the hormone.

Function of androgen.• They are crucial to male

sexual and reproductive function.

• Androgens promote the enlargement of skeletal muscle cells

Function of oestrogen & progesterone.• Oestrogen helps maintain bone

strength and might prevent heart disease and also protect memory before menopause.

• Progesterone plays an important role in maintaining a pregnancy.

3. How the hormone

affect human

behaviour.

0The level of exposure to the hormone androgen during gestation make boy to more interest in male-typical toys.

0Circulating levels of androgens can influence human behaviour because some neurons are sensitive to steroid hormones.

0Hormone progesterone and oestrogen play important role in female behaviour.

0Oestrogen can make female more attractive to male by increasing the production of stimuli.

0The temporary rise in progesterone will stimulate sexually receptivity while the prolonged secretion of progesterone will inhibit sexual receptivity.

CONCLUSION

You have listened to three main points

(a) The hormone that influence human behaviour.(b) The function of hormone.

(c) How hormone affect human behaviour.• There is no strong evidence that may be

associated with the given points but it all suggests that sometimes, our bodies know what the best for us.
