Today you are going to create a story map to retell the story.

A story map uses a combination of pictures, words and sentences to retell a story.

There are some examples on the next slide for you to look at.

Remember to include only the key parts of the story and a combination of pictures,

words and sentences. Add some colour too.

Can you add an adverbial of time at the beginning of each sentence?

Today you are going to create and describe your own underwater world creature

using items of clothing found in a washing machine similar to the ones in the story –

sock fish, hat turtles, t-shirt octopuses.

Draw a picture of your underwater world creature. Think about the item(s) of

clothing you will use. Remember to name your new species! Add some colour too.

Children working at home, with permission, perhaps you could use real items of

clothing to make your underwater world creature. We’d love to see some photos of them on our FB page! ☺
