NEW WORK
Huttenpark 2020
Afrikaans Eerste Addisionele Taal
Kwartaal 2
Kwarentyn Boek 4
Dag 1: Taalwerk: Tye/Tenses
We‘re still going to look at the three tenses but focus more on Future Tense:
• Teenwoordige tyd – something that happens right now = Today/Vandag. • Verlede tyd – something that happened yesterday/gister. • Toekomende tyd – something will happen tomorrow/more.
Teenwoordige tyd = Present tense
Verlede tyd = Past tense
Toekomende tyd = Future tense
1. Teenwoordige tyd: Nothing changes in this tense. It stays as it is. The Afrikaans, verbs remain the same for everyone in the Present tense. Example 1: Ek skryf my huiswerk in my boek . (What’s the verb in the sentence?) *Very important: Always identify the verb of a sentence.
2. Toekomende tyd: In this tense there’s one thing that needs to change. “Sal” is indicating that the sentence is Future tense. “Sal” needs to be placed in the verbs space and the verb moves to the end of the sentence: Remember you don’t add “ge-“ to the verb only Past tense, we add “ge-“ to the verb. Step 1: Identify the verb. Step 2: Now you need to place “sal” in the verbs space. Step 3: Move the verb to the back of the sentence. Example 2: Ek skryf my huiswerk in my boek. (Present tense) Ek sal my huiswerk in my boek skryf. (Future Tense)
Step 1: Identify verb.
Step 2: Place “sal” in the verbs space.
Step 3: Move the verb to the back of the sentence.
Oefening 1: Change the following sentences to the Future tense / Toekomende tyd:
1. Sy vertel ‘n storie. 2. Ouma lees ‘n boek. 3. Oupa dra ‘n bril. 4. Die kat sit op die muur. 5. Ek stap in die mooi park. 6. Sarie trek skoene aan. 7. Johan draf om die huis. 8. Mamma bak koekies in die kombuis. 9. Pappa braai lekker vleis in die aand. 10. Ek mis my skool maats so baie.
Dag 2: Story: Skilpad en sy dop.
This is a listening and speaking activity. Parents can read with the learner through the story. Orally answer question afterwards.
Eendag was daar ’n skilpad, en hy het alleen in die veld gewoon. Elke dag
het hy gekyk hoe die ander diere vinnig hardloop, en hy het hartseer gevoel
omdat hy so stadig was. Skilpad was hartseer, want hy kon nie so vinnig
soos die ander diere hardloop nie. Hy kon net stadig stap.
Skilpad het gedink en gedink en toe sê hy, “Ek kan nie vinnig hardloop nie,
want my dop is te swaar. Ek dink ek sal uit my dop kruip, dan sal ek vinnig
kan hardloop”. Toe kruip Skilpad uit sy dop en hy hardloop en roep uit,
“Kyk na my, ek kan nou vinnig hardloop!” Hy was baie gelukkig.
Maar wat dink julle gebeur toe? Skilpad hardloop nog met die paadjie
langs, toe loop hy hom in ’n groot hond vas. Skilpad skrik hom boeglam.
Hy gaan staan, draai om en hardloop so vinnig as wat hy kan daar weg. Wat
dink julle het Skilpad gedink? Ja, hy’t gedink die hond gaan hom jaag. En
die hond hét ook agter hom aan gehardloop en geblaf, só: “Woef-woefwoef!”
Skilpad voel vreeslik bang. Hy draai van die paadjie af en kruip agter
’n groot rots weg. Die hond sien nie vir Skilpad wegkruip nie en hy hardloop
verder.
Toe die hond weg is, kom Skilpad agter die rots uit en hy begin weer
hardloop. Nie lank daarna nie hoor Skilpad ’n lawaai. Hy kyk op en daar sien
hy ’n groot voël. Wat dink julle het die groot voël gedink? Ja, die groot voël
wou vir Skilpad eet. Skilpad hardloop so vinnig as wat hy kan daar weg. Hy
sien ’n boom met ’n gat daarin, en hy hardloop vinnig by die gat in. Skilpad
wag tot die voël wegvlieg, toe kom hy uit die gat.
Skilpad is nie baie gelukkig nie. Hoekom is hy nie gelukkig nie? Ja, dis reg
– want hy is bang. Hy het nie ’n dop om in weg te kruip nie. Kort daarna
begin dit reën en dis koud. Skilpad raak sopnat en hy bewe van die koue.
Hy hou niks daarvan nie. Hy is nou regtig baie ongelukkig. Wat dink julle
doen hy toe?
Ja, hy kruip in sy sterk dop terug. Hy sê, “Ek gee nie om as ek nie vinnig kan
hardloop nie. Ek is ’n skilpad. Ek is bly ek is ek!” En dis hoekom skilpaaie tot
vandag toe nie uit hulle doppe kan kruip nie.
Fluit-fluit, my storie is uit!
1. Vertel die storie in die regte volgorde vir jou ouers. 2. Wie is die hoofkarakter? 3. Hoekom was Skilpad hartseer? 4. Watter plan maak Skilpad? 5. Wat leer jy uit die storie?

Maths-
NEW WORK For this week I would like each learner to please get all their given work up to date. I have attached the Memo for the Easter Holiday Maths Workbook, as well as last week’s Exercises. The learners can look through the answers and see if they have done the work correctly and have understood it.
By now the learners should also know their tables 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 (x and ÷). Please revise these tables again. The learners can also learn the tables 5 and 10 for this week. For this week I will also be sending 2 tables test for the learners. This can be done verbally or on paper.
A child who knows his/her tables will find multiplication and division sums, fractions, etc. A LOT easier!!!
Thank you for your support. Enjoy this extra time together.

NEW WORK
The following work will be done over 2 WEEKS.
This term we are going to have a closer look at patterns
Learners are going to make a letter pattern using their own name. They will then be using the following guidelines to complete this activity:
1. Fold a page in half ( from top to bottom) 2. They then have to fit their name into the divided page, only
working in one half. 3. The letters have to touch top and bottom of the half. 4. The letters can be done in capitals or lower case and any font
type. 5. Letters must have a double outline as the example below
illustrates:
6. The learner then uses their khoki pens, fine liners or coloured pens to decorate the letters in the inside of each letter. It can be any pattern they would like to use. Each letter must be a different pattern, but only in the inside of each letter. Remember a pattern is a repetition of shapes or lines colours etc.
7. Neatness plays an important role in the success of your art work. I hope to see great masterpieces. Enjoy this activity.
Duration of ART project: 2 weeks.
