    LESSON PLAN- Phrasal Verbs

    Lesson Objectives:

    1.to develop listening skills2.to broaden vocabulary3.to provide clarification in the cases of some commonly misused phrasal verbs

    Assumptions:Ss are aware of what phrasal verbs are and some of them are in their active vocabulary.

    Anticipated problems:

    Ss may find some of the exercises as redundant having in view that in some of them theyencounter commonly used phrasal verbs.

    Materials:- CD with music- Take on me- A-Ha- Software :Phrasal verbs- online worksheet- Board and makers- Notebooks

    Activity 1-Warm up

    Aim:-to raise students awareness of phrasal verbs and what they are

    Procedure: Interaction TimingT-S, S-T 5

    1. Ss have access to the software :Phrasal verbs- online worksheet2.They are required to discuss the meaning of the phrasal verb take on.Take something on=to agree to do some work or be responsible for somethingDonttake on too much work - the extra cash isn't worth it.Take somebody on = to start to employ someone , hire:We're taking on 50 new staff this year.3.They are briefly reminded what phrasal verbs are.

    Activity 2- Fill in while listening and that discuss the lyrics.

    Aim:- to develop listening skills- to develop speaking skills- to broaden vocabulary

    Procedure:

    Interaction Timing

    1. Individually Ss listen and complete the missing words S-T, T-S 10in part 1 of the online worksheet (the song Take on me- A-Ha).2. They check their exercise with the help of the teacher.( see teachersworksheet)3.The teachers elicits from the Ss answers regarding the message of the songand, consequently, the meaning of the phrasal verb in the title.
